You so so so often hear white people go on and on about how unhealthy Japanese food is, because so much of it is fried, and very fatty, and very salty, but like -- Japan doesn't have an ""obesity epidemic"" and has one of the highest proportions of elderly citizens in the world, so maybe fatty, salty, fried foods aren't actually all that bad for you

That guy who probably cheated on his homework hasn't been in class since that day, though he's still on the roster

Another quiz done, 28/30 for a dumb mistake. One more quiz on chapter 3 and 4 vocabulary, the flashcards, and a couple pages in the workbook

This quiz had a redo on it! I didn't notice (I wonder if others have and I could have retaken one of the ones I similarly messed up?) but was digging around in the modules for upcoming assignments and saw that I could retake it. So now it's 30/30

HW #18 pp. 41-43, X ga aru/iru; location words; deshita and ja nakatta desu
HW #19 pp. 44-45, past tense of verbs
HW #20 pp. 46-47, も added to other particles; for number of hours 、〜時間・時かん, e.g., I watched a movie for two hours/私は二時かん えいがを みました;and other particle usage
HW #21 pp. 48-49, Ch. 4 Let’s Answer! (こたえましょう!); Ch. 4 きくれんしゅう
HW #22 is composed of two tasks: From the textbook, pp. 310311; on the same PDF upload, workbook p. 136 (Ch. 4 kanji)
HW #23, pp. 50-51, Adjective conjugation (non-past, present) and usage in sentences
HW #24 pp. 52-53, Adjective conjugation, past, non-past, and present; usage exercises
HW #25 pp. 137-138, Ch. 5 kanji

This is all the remaining homework for the class. It's neat, because when the class started I looked at the predicted homework and was so confused by what it all meant, but now I get it, and that's half now having experience with the homework assignments and knowing what they're generally like, and half understanding more of the language

There's also some assigned reading I missed, so I should do that tonight before bed, but after I eat some more dinner. It's just eleven pages, so shouldn't be difficult to get through

To say it's bad brain times again would imply it stopped being bad brain times at some point, but it is a particularly bad bad brain time today

Another class done! Rough start to it, but it picked up. We did a reading exercise, calling on each student in turn backwards through the roster to read a sentence out of a passage, and she outright skipped me, but then we did a 'which sentence in the passage talks about x' exercise and near the end of it goes 'I think we skipped Michael so he can go next', so. We did some number practice combined with reading-kanji practice, and then we got an introductory slideshow to いる/ある verbs (iru: "to be", animate; aru: "to be", inanimate) and how to conjugate into positive and negative past tense (ました, past tense; ませんでした, past tense negative; でした/じゃなかったです past and past negative specifically for です). Then some more kanji mnemonics for this coming chapter

Seven pages of homework due Sunday! Two of which are kanji practice again. So I'll need to get on that, and then Sor arrives Saturday so I need to get ready to have a visitor. This is going to bleed over into tomorrow, but some things I need to get done are:
-Homework (kanji assignment done)
-Shave and shower (head and face)
-Clean litterboxes
-Clean water bowls
-Should give Cael's food bowl a wash, too, I just did Oz's this afternoon
-Laundry (including pulling some summer clothes out of storage and giving those a wash) (have the first load running, including summer clothes)
-Picking up the nonsense that's strewn all over my floor
-Taking garbage bags out to the trash can (done once for the litter but I'll need to do it again for regular garbage)
-Swapping the little shelf unit with the humidifier and getting the humidifier set up
-Finding places for the stuff that's been sitting around waiting for me to put it away
-Medi-Cal renewal forms

That's enough of a list for now, I think! I've eaten a lunch, so I'm going to finish checking daily internets, then I'm going to garden and walk around the pool, and then I'm going to get started on All Of That.

I was going to go to the store today but forgot there was an Arcadia recording scheduled. So I did that, and then I gardened and did a walk (the roses are looking so good!!), then dug out the storage clothes and threw a load into the washing machine, and since then I've been hanging out online. I need to eat a lunch and then I'll get back to working on that list, maybe start on the rest of the homework or go ahead and jump in the shower.

Super deep sleep the past couple of days, it's leaving me really groggy when I finally manage to get up
