The cats are spending this morning walking all over Sor while they're trying (so far succeeding) to sleep

Re: Promiseland
Sor is gone. Dozed a bit through the night but obviously that's not gonna be enough sleep. Dropped Sor off at the airport, got home and discovered one of my bathroom drawers is all fucked up -- it's always been sticky but today we just could not get it open for ages. ash thinks I should sand the sides down to get it to fit better and probably get the shitty landlord paint off it. It's staying open for now, which is annoying.
Put myself right into bed and slept for about three hours, then I got up and put the grape in the ground. Then played video games for a few hours until dinner, then watched Taskmaster and some other things with ash until bed. Definitely an early night. Tomorrow homework and getting some due arcadia bits recorded

About one month of class left and next week I can sign up for the fall semester. I might take another look at available classes and see if there's anything I want to take over summer, but I think it would be wiser to not

Having now actually looked over the homework I have discovered that one of the pages is nothing but answering questions about yourself and this is even funnier

Re: Promiseland
Homework done! Took way too long and I made some dumb mistakes, but I have hopefully fixed all of them. I got a little ambitious on a few of the answers, and I'm still making myself do a bunch of the kanji but that's getting kind of alright.
Today I watered plants and sprayed for aphids, and ash and I watched Baghead, an interesting movie about a woman who inherits an out-of-business pub with a monster/demon/suchlike trapped in the basement. The creature will let you talk to the dead for two minutes and after that will start fucking with you, there is a man who is desperate to learn the details of his wife's death (and, more specifically, wants to know why she was about to leave him just before she died), there is a woman who may or may not be MC's girlfriend who is trying to get MC out of this situation, and MC has inherited all this from her estranged father (who died attempting to get rid of the creature and had not intended for all of this to fall into his daughter's hands). It's well paced, the writing is alright, and the special effects range from good to silly but are generally used really well in either case.
And of course other than all that I spent like four hours working on homework
Last night I got about twelve hours of sleep despite the cats' best efforts to stop me, so I'm feeling pretty on top of sleep right now and will be trying to go to bed on time

Oz is back to doing extremely badly with food and I'm very stressed about it. I've raised her CBD to seven drops in hopes it'll help

I didn't take my vitamins for a couple days because of the weird sleep schedule and then forgot again today and my lack of focus is palpable

Re: Promiseland
Class done, it was another rough one. Just a lot of call and response, and everyone seemed really tired and out of it. Miraculously, she didn't break us off into groups even when the textbook suggested she do so, so I didn't need to deal with any of that
No homework assigned yet, which is weird, but we're just finished chapter 4 so there's bound to be a quiz on it soon
Did gardening and walking around the pool, and emptied the dishwasher. The grape vine has some little nubs, so I'm optimistic about it not dying, but I'm not positive it didn't already have those when I got it. Fingers crossed! It is a reliance, which I think is not a common store kind? I tried to not get something I could just get at the store, and I think the usual reds you find are flames.
I'm eating lunch now (cheese, crackers, grapes) and dicking around on the internet while warily eyeing my class assignments in case one pops up while I'm not looking. Today I will do some recording and I'd like to take a shower, but without homework to need to do I'm a bit free today and going to take it slow and easy.

Re: Promiseland
So I've been using an app to learn kanji and it's been working really well for me, I've made great progress. But apparently it had me on a free trial that it hadn't told me about, and that's expired, and now progress with it is unusably slow (it lets me learn two (2) kanji at a time and limits the number of reviews I can do a day to 10). I would love to pay for it and support the developer to get premium access back except that a one-time payment for it is $125 (or $5 a month, forever) and the developer has apparently been radio silent for at least eight years. There's a lot of reviews in the app store like 'I can't unsubscribe and the developer isn't responding to my emails' so, uh, no thanks. Even if I were into yet another fucking subscription in my life, I'm not subscribing to an app that's never going to update again and that I'll never be able to stop paying for. And I'm sure as shit not paying over a hundred dollars for this.
So I've been trying to find a replacement with no luck. I'm testing one out that seems promising except that it's limiting my reviews to like, once a day? Which is frustrating, I want to be practising these things a few times a day at least. And what I really need is for it to prompt me with, like, the full combination instead of just the kunyomi/onyomi readings (like, prompting with either 食 or 食べる, instead of just 食 for both and expecting me to remember which reading is kun and which is on). I don't know if this current app will do that because I haven't unlocked readings for any of the kanji yet -- see above re 'limiting reviews to once a day'.
Unsure what I'll do, might have to use an anki deck, which I will Hate.
