i think the neighbor’s music made it into my dream, because i dreamed someone was having a 3-day wedding next door with round the clock music.

Oz is eating Cael's food, which is a problem in that it's diet and I don't want her dieting, and also Cael needs his food, but it is her eating which is good

If she's been doing that and I haven't noticed, then Cael isn't actually eating any of his new food and needs an alternative sooner than later

She's not like, enthusiastic about it, but she's gone over to his bowl a few times now to eat from it

She isn't eating his food in her own bowl, so location or bowl type might also be factors

I've ordered a small bag of the non-diet version of the new food to see if she'll eat that, and also another bag of his kitten food so he'll have food to eat. If Oz sneaks over to eat that then I'll know it's more the location than the food

Borrowed some of ash's and Erik's cats' food (which is the brand I'd planned on switching Cael to, anyway) and he's eating that fine

Put the diet food in a bowl more like his and Oz ate some of it on my bed, so that's more data there. Will test her special food in that bowl and see if she'll eat it, but it's her old bowl which she stopped eating anything out of before, so.

Current theory is that the kibbles for her special food (and most foods) are too big for her -- the Nulo has very small kibble pieces and the blue buffalo I used to give her also had pretty small pieces. But she wouldn't eat the special food when I tried breaking it up for her, before, and she did stop eating the blue buffalo yonks ago (that's how this whole mess started, you know).

Worried that she might need small kibbles and special protein-source food, but I won't borrow trouble.

Today was birthday dinner! We got gyoza to share, I got sukiyaki (hotpot with beef, vegetables, mushrooms, tofu, and a broth) and a ramune, it was delicious and there is so much of it and I'm going to eat more of it later. That place is good price for its quality, IMO, but it is quality so it is a little pricey -- though it was extra pricey because apparently the site they do their deliveries from tacks a bunch of hidden fees onto it at the end, after you've agreed to process it? Which is super skeezy and will almost definitely become illegal after the Honest Pricing Law goes into effect in July. They do appear to also be available through other delivery apps, so.

But yes, good food. We watched an Um Actually and a Smartypants while we ate it, and then ash and I came into my room to play some of the newest Rusty Lake, Underground Blossom. I played it when it came out but it's been long enough that there's a lot I don't remember, mostly the puzzles that aren't at all straightforward because of course those are going to stick in your head more. I have not actually finished it, I got stuck close to the end and set it down for a while and then didn't pick it back up again, and also they added new content to it somewhat recently (that might require playing The Past Within again to get to? I am unclear, we can figure that out when it comes to it). Other than all of that I spent today doing not much, and I will continue doing that now that ash has gone to bed. Maybe do some more drawings. @erikavonkaiser if you would be into doing like a weekly art prompt thing together I would also be into that, but I know you specifically do drawings like, as a personal thing so I understand if you wouldn't want to add pressure to it in that way!

There are a couple of discord servers I'm in that are going to shut down soon, including probably the one for the Japanese class, so I need to get the chat exporter running and grab logs of all that, which I think means firing up the windows computer and seeing if I can get it working there. Alternatively maybe getting a windows VM running just for that? That'll be a pain in the ass, though. I miss being able to just, file > save as in a chat room. Or leave Brutus running to grab logs as they happen. Technology is such a burden

Oz has been eating a good amount of food today!! Cael is not enthused about the new food, but I believe he is eating it so maybe he'll come around. The chewy order with more kitten chow and a bag of the non-diet Nulo food has shipped, so should arrive on like, monday
