It is my Monday equivalent! My weekend was an overall successful weekend, however, so I'm not too sour about it. I did end up taking Baby Dog to the dog beach yesterday and she had a romping good time that included finding A Cool Stick! We played fetch for a while and waded into the lake.
She understandably spent the rest of the day snoozin' and I played a bunch of Final Fantasy 14 before ending the day with a really satisfying D&D session. We had a fun boss fight! I know D&D 5e gets criticized for how much of a slog its combat can be, and I don't disagree, but it's hard for me to decry it completely because it can be an absolute blast and I don't outright hate combat in my TTRPGs like some people seem to. I definitely wouldn't want to play in a game that's combat-focused, because then it does start to feel like "well let's murder all these goblins for XP" and too heavy on being a video game grind vs. roleplaying as characters making deliberate choices. But otherwise I like breaks in puzzles/roleplaying/exploring to do some action stuff! During the boss fight Rex held up our gnome wizard like a cannon and gave her advantage on casting a big ol' fireball, it was fun.
Today I need to do my usual routines, plus I have laundry started because I definitely forgot to do it yesterday. I'm also working on another art I'll show once it's finished; I'm practicing more with that lineless style I used for the Rex and Merillian picture, since I think I'm better at shapes and painting directly onto them than I am at making nice lineart.
Okay lemme finish my coffeedrank and then go do things
