I genuinely enjoy how much Baby Dog gets excited for naps/to be cozy, if I lay down on the bed and she's not already she'll baseball slide in like FUCK YEAHHHHHHHH

She also ages ago learned to paw at the covers and I'll lift them up for her, so she just disappears into the bed and zonks the fuck out

For some reason I woke up at like 4:30 AM, wide awake, and I laid in bed for a while trying to see if I could doze but gave up around 5:30 AM. I think at least some of it was that my bedroom got a little too cold for even my liking overnight, since one of the first things I did was turn the heater on, but sometimes my brain just inexplicably does that. I'm not too mad about it; it's my Sunday equivalent so if my energy levels droop later I'll just take a nap, or go to bed a little early.

Anyways, I am awake but hilariously, Baby Dog is not, so I'm just sitting and playing a bit of FF14 while I drink some coffeedrank and enjoy the sunrise. She'll probably wanna go walkies in the next hour or so, but until then I shall remain cozy.

Went on a nice long run over lunch! I ran to the bird sanctuary and around Montrose harbor, which I think was a total of about five or six miles. I wasn't counting, specifically, since I just wanted to stretch my legs and enjoy the views.

I took pictures of a bird, also, that Sam and Sophie identified as a red-winged blackbird! I am not remotely a birder but I do like to go "hey, I found a bird!!!" and show my friends who are birders. This guy!

Then I got home and ordered Indian food; I want to try and find a good local place, and this one is delicious but imho was pricey for its serving sizes so I doubt I'll order from there again. Super tasty curry, though! I just want to find a better balance of quality/quantity, and I can definitely achieve that with city-living privilege.

Anyway, I also did some more chores (including the laundry I still managed to neglect yesterday woops) and moved some furniture around, so now when I play video games on the couch I have a proper end table to set my cup/phone/etc on instead of just, precariously on a combination of the couch arm and floor.

After all that I'm pretty much set to chill for the rest of the day, which I intend to do!

still! I had a nice weekend, D&D went well --

-- and I didn't quite clear the Volcano Manor quests in Elden Ring because the final assassination missions are super far away, but I did progress further. For now I'm taking the morning kinda slow before I exercise, mostly because my back hurts and I think I'm starting my period either today or tomorrow. Bodies!!! Who needs em

After over 80 hours of Elden Ring gameplay I finally encountered my first annoyingly fussy quest; I had to Google two different parts of the Sorceress Sellen quest chain because it got "stuck," and I think I still goofed it slightly because at no point was I able to speak to Jerren to actually figure out his deal. In fact, I only spoke to him at all because one of the "stuck" parts was you have to go back to Radahn's castle and talk to him before you can give Sellen's puppet the soul back, which I wouldn't have thought to do of my own accord because as far as I knew he was a completely random crusty old man who announced the grand battle. When you do go talk to him, he just vaguely says he's going to "take care of business," which is not helpful, and if I wasn't following a guide I'm not sure I would've ever realized he meant killing Sorceress Sellen.

Anyways, I did clear the quest, but the choice at the end was kinda goofy for me because it was basically "do you want to help this random crusty old man" or "do you want to help this lady who says you are her special princess and is being bothered by this random crusty old man"

(I did panic for a second because I thought Rennala was gone for good after Sellen takes over the Academy, and while I don't plan to respec anytime soon I still would like to have the option, but hilariously she just gets put in the toddler corner with her egg)

My experience of Elden Ring so far is that it's not nearly as easy to completely fuck up a quest/NPC stuff/etc as some people make it seem, unless you consider it game-breaking to accidentally miss out on minute NPC dialogue at times, but this one was deffo goofy

It's also funny that Sorceress Sellen is basically like "if the whole Elden Lord thing doesn't work out you can come to the Academy" like we love a good fallback plan, thank you queen

ALSO, one final Elden Ring thought for now, but this fucking ruled:
