It's my Monday! Ew!

I'm sitting for a minute --

ope actually I should eat a food, let me do that before I put it off too long and it throws off my morning ahhhhh

-- okay, now I am sitting for a minute while I eat said food (cooked some leftover squash up with eggs, chompf chompf) and in about an hour I'll exercise and do my other routine stuff. I do need to do laundry at some point in the next few days but I'm hoping I can stretch that out to being a Sunday problem, since otherwise Sundays are a slower morning for me.

Here, have a WIP from over the weekend! It's one of the better faces I've drawn, I think. I've been trying to figure out how to draw eyes in a way that lets characters be more expressive (which mostly means trying to render eyelashes and eyelids) and it turned out alright!

Now that I'm looking at it I need to redo her lips, though, I was trying to make it look like she applied lipstick but since I didn't color the part underneath she just looks like those pictures of rabbits after they eat a strawberry

Anyways, ended up doing laundry today so that's waiting in the dryer next time I feel like getting up, which is probably going to be in a few minutes because it's almost noon and I gotta get dressed.

I did go on a nice long run today! It's pleasant out (50-something degrees and sunny) and unfortunately the next four or five days the temperature drops ten degrees-ish and it gets rainy and overcast. I don't mind running in light rain, but anything past a drizzle is a big "no thanks" from me. So I made sure to get a nice run in today, then tomorrow's my rest day and after that I'll either just walk on my walking treadmill (one of my best purchases of the past few years, tbh, I have deeply appreciated having an accessible human hamster wheel) or use the janky treadmill in the apartment gym.

Okay lemme try to stop myself from sitting here and refreshing feeds, gonna get up to grab laundry, get dressed, then properly sit and draw for a minute before I have to walk Baby Dog and go to work

I appreciate artists in particular sometimes need to fight the algorithm even if they hate doing so but seeing half my feed posting their own work and going "who is the artist for this " is both fucking with me and just generally making me wanna recoil into the earth

Thursday equivalent!

Yesterday was surprisingly busy but otherwise it's been a little slower at work, so we'll see what today and tomorrow have in store.

I have been extremely enjoying drawing in-between cases, though! I've slightly given up on writing during working hours (I am still trying to figure out a writing schedule, it is my overwhelming frustration with my projects/life balance/schedule at the moment), just because my workplace and coworkers are too distracting. I don't need absolute intense silence when I write, but I do need slightly minimal distractions to keep a train of thought which is almost impossible given how social and loud my coworkers tend to be combined with my actual job tasks. If I just had to deal with one or the other I could probably manage, but especially in an open office I just struggle to get more than a sentence or two down.

(I've thought about trying to write Sundays, my rest day, but that kinda defeats the purpose of a day without specific routines, so all of this means I just need to find time on my weekend to schedule writing and UGH I can't wait to be on morning shift)

ANYWAY, drawing during work is really easy though! I can "mm-hmm" at coworkers as needed and easily pause/restart in-between calls and cases. I actually finished that WIP of Janus last night:

The part where you apply heat to thing in order to cook it is by far the least oppressive step in cooking when I'm low on spell slots
