So due to a promotion ESO is doing, I have ESO+ for free for about ten days (thanks Erika for turning me on to that), so I've been playing that all night. I'm working on 100%ing Summerset, maybe I can knock it out before the trial expires

They also have a couple more of their DLCs for free this month so now I have Imperial City, Morrowind, Necrom, Orsinium, and Thieves Guild, even after the ESO+ expires. Maybe eventually I'll end up with all of them, which would be nice except that 90% of the reason to get ESO+ is actually the magic extra inventory bag -- since I'm an idiot and do All of my crafting on one character, I run out of inventory space so fast without a subscription that I can't really be bothered to play without giving Zenimax my money

Aside from that, there was another Arcadia today -- the next one (for me) is on Wednesday so I get a couple days of not having to worry about it, which is nice. We didn't do everything that was scheduled this past week but sessions that are scheduled and end up not happening still take up energy in the leadup to them not happening, to say nothing of the three (I think?) that did happen all in a row at the end, there.

Then just, you know, hung out with ash for a while -- watched a little mindless TV and then played some of Sara Is Missing (a dumb little horror game where the gimmick is you have found a missing woman's phone and have to piece together what happened to her (and possibly save her?) via what you find on it). Also did a little gardening, I finally watered most of my plants and I also deadheaded the roses

I also also did some outfit customising in ESO, so now I have a new outfit I'm running around in

It's late, but I don't want to go to sleep yet so I'm going to go play some more video game

More ants. There's no trails yet but I'm worried there will be before the problem is taken care of. They're coming from the guest bathroom, which my room is right next to, and I have, you know, the cats' food in here, in addition to my food, so. I've sprayed vinegar water in front of my door to hopefully stop them from coming inside, but I am finding a lot of them in my bed which is not ideal. Will have to get up periodically to make sure they're not also elsewhere in the room

Dealing with the ant infestation the first time was Awful and I'm not looking forward to potentially having to do it again. Hopefully it gets nipped in the bud before that.

Ugh

Playing ESO and I've got a quest to kill a boss I can't solo, so since it's the middle of the day I popped over to it to see if anyone else happens to be working on it right now. There was one other guy also seemingly hanging around waiting for other people to show up, so I parked near him to see if he wanted to try it with just the two of us or wait for a bigger group, and he proceeded to get Really Weird up on my (female) avatar

I left of course, I'll head back over later to try again when creepoid might not be around

Did manage to kill the boss! Even though I died close to the end of the fight and had to sprint back to get back into it

I also finally picked up a companion! Not the one I'd intended to, because it turns out you can't do companion quests on free trial subscriptions? And I don't have the area for that companion unlocked without subscription, so I went over to an area that I do have unlocked (Necrom, also courtesy of Erika) and did Azandar's quest. He is not who I originally wanted, but he is fantastic and I love him. He's also a great fit for my character, both RP-wise and playstyle, so that's a bonus

I've now ended up in an altmer keep where they're predictably being huge assholes, and on my way to helping them with their shit they're all like 'just so you know after all this is done we're going to arrest you for trespassing, but helping us will look better during the trial than running away' so I decided to break off from the quest briefly to rob them blind.

Meanwhile, earlier I did a questline that concluded thusly:

And if you go back and talk to that character after the quest is done you can have this conversation:

b.jpg
c.jpg
d.jpg

Which is great?? Also run into a lot of just, casually gay NPCs that talk about their same-sex spouses, not part of any questline or anything just background chatter. Oh, and also during Azandar's quest he kept talking about another character while using both she/her and they/them pronouns for them, which in a video game comes across as potentially a mistake but the wiki is comfortable saying it "implies they are nonbinary". Neat if intentional!

I am going to go eat dinner, now, and then will probably play some more video game

I'm also breaking off from the quest halfway through to go manage my inventory so so much for the 'you can't run away' threat, too

Did end up with a trail of ants, and right into my bed, so that's fun. On the bright side a trail means I can figure out where they're coming from and stop them -- as it turns out they were getting in through a crack in the corner in the guest room behind the guest bed, so I sealed that off the best I could with what I currently have (note to self (and household) we need to actually get a caulk gun at some point) and put down an ant trap in front of it (thanks ash for picking those up, you may want to reassess where you put yours), then cleaned up their trail, sprayed some vinegar in front of both the guest room and my bedroom doors, cleaned up their trail again, and spent some time vacuuming them off my bed and killing them on my floor. I took a look outside and didn't see any obvious trails leading to the guest room wall, but it's behind garden so they could just be going underground right outside of it without having to cross any pavement. If I can I'll go out and spray around the perimeter during the day when the black widows are asleep -- I also killed a couple of them tonight that were building webs in inconvenient spots (one of them is one I let go a couple nights ago, but it came back and built its web in the same inconvenient spot so I'm afraid at that point its life is forfeit. I try to leave them alone, but when they're in a position to be coming inside the house, or a place I (or the pool guy) need to put my hands blindly, I can't allow that to continue)

Anyway. Some pest control tonight. And now I'm going to chill out and rest until bed. More video games, maybe a dessert to go with it

I think about Kyle XY every time bellybuttons come up in conversation, especially in regards to having or not having them, and I think that means I think about Kyle XY more than anyone else on the planet

NATHAN: I will say, the Garbage Ape canonically does have a belly-button, so
JACOB: Okay. So, he was born.
NATHAN: Yeah.
JACOB: In a mammalian fashion.

ME: Unlike Kyle XY
