Re: Promiseland
Another email from the CEO, this one says
Some members are also asking about their direct deposits. Please know that any incoming direct deposit(s) will be credited to your account and processed before any withdrawals (e.g., checks, cash withdrawals). Currently, you can access the funds from your direct deposit by writing a check, using an ATM card to get cash, or making a purchase.
This sounds like direct deposits are going through? Of course none of this is on the official updates page which still says direct deposits are not going through but also hasn't been updated since 11 this morning

Re: Promiseland
In news that isn't bank fuckups or the weather
So as mentioned I've been watching the game grumps play Resident Evil 8 and it looks fun and I have been enjoying the story, in large part because it is very changeling, and so I also want to share it with ash. And it looks like it would not be a hardship to jump in there with no backstory (the game actually gives you a quick Previously On if you haven't played 7, it looks like) -- or we could start with 7, which apparently was intended to be a, fresh start for the series and you don't need to know anything from any prior games, but I also thought
ash and I played through the whole Silent Hill series a couple-few years ago and that was fun, even when the games were Not Great -- what if we did that again for Resident Evil? As mentioned they're not really my genre, but I'd be interested in seeing the evolution of the series, and experiencing it in an analytical sort of way. And making fun of the camp with ash, of course. So I asked him if he'd be into that and he was so we're doing that!
I got Dave's advice on starting with the original or playing the remake and the verdict ultimately was play the remake (Chris) and watch a speedrun of the original (Jill). Spent a while trying to get the remake working on an emulator, then (after an Innuendo Studios, a Thousandaires, and dinner) struggled a Lot with actually playing the game while being so sure I had read that the remake made non-tank-controls an option, and then learning that the remake did not do that but the remaster did and that the remaster is currently on sale. So tomorrow we will get that and start again, hopefully with better luck this time! It is possible that if I forced myself to try to play tank controls that I could eventually manage to finish the game, but I have never been able to get the hang of them in the past.
I am nervous about this crimsonhead mechanic, and I'm already struggling with Chris' more limited inventory, but I think when I'm able to play without running into walls every three seconds that we'll have fun with it
I need to look into the other remakes to see if we'll want to play those, too, or the originals -- I'm pretty sure 2 also had tank controls so we'll probably need to do remake for that. I am reading that those remakes are apparently Very different from the originals, which is unfortunate, but I suppose if need be we could also watch speedruns of those. I'm especially seeing some contention in the RE3 reviews
Anyway! More dinner, some youtube, the usual evening from here on out. Might pop Resident Evil on again in the meantime and practice tanking, see if I can get a handle on it long enough to finish a game

I mean if you think about it, trump was great for them -- got everyone all riled up to vote blue and donate and they didn't have to do anything. Take it easy for a few years and reap rewards next cycle

I truly cannot imagine how their campaign makes sense from any other angle. I can think of ways to try to sell Biden to the american public and they're doing none of it, nevermind that it would be more effective to run just about anybody but him
I don't get it, and I'm tired, and worried, and I want out of this system

Alright, I have attempted to pay two of my bills, hoping that the direct deposit did go through and that transactions initiated by a third party are working. If they don't bounce back then I can maybe take care of other needs
