Yeah!! There's a YouTuber I enjoy who does a lot of videos about it and I just love her style, she also talks a lot about dressing how you want and how wearing bright colors and "childish" things does not make you less of a grown-up (she's a mother, for instance, and obviously in general a grown adult).

As it is I'll sneak in little doodads and cute things where I can get away with

Same character, I like the first one well enough (finished a few months ago) but the WIP, despite being very unfinished (poor lad has no eyebrows yet), has better shapes and colors

My faces are soooooo much better and I've gotten much better at picking colors/shading with contrast/something something art terms

Anyways, I'm still learning but I'm very proud of my progress!

Also, just to say it out loud, I did break up with Sophie near the beginning of this month, and do consider her an abusive and unsafe person. It's unfortunate things turned out that way, but I'm safely by myself in the apartment now and all that's left is to figure out logistics of getting the rest of her belongings out and her name off the lease, then I can block her on everything and start to move on.

We were together three years, but moving in together definitely triggered a lot of things and kept her from hiding things she had been hiding. I wish her the best in spite of everything, and hope the therapy/psychiatrist meds she's currently pursuing will help her.

I'll heal and it'll be alright, but goddamn am I too old for this drama
