Pain is better today -- it was better yesterday, too, but I continued taking it easy to avoid re-aggravating whatever was going on. The way I hold my phone apparently hurts the part of my wrist at the base of my thumb, so I need to not do that, which is going to be very difficult. And then favouring that hand hurt my other hand, so. Need to continue being gentle for a while, and figure out ways to use my phone without damaging myself
Went to dad's yesterday, we just shot the shit for an hour and caught up on everything that went on over July. He's doing alright, the house is still in a state
I need to continue doing minimal existing for a bit to recover spoons, and when I have spoons I need to record some things for ash and get my room cleaned up. I'm back in language brain a bit, so I've been doing some Japanese studying -- I've found some more linguistics-focused resources that might work better for me than the 'just go with it' methods that most beginner resources use
Oz has a drop-off appointment with the vet tomorrow; they want to ultrasound her stomach to make sure there's no blockages or anything in there that's affecting her ability/willingness to eat. She was doing really well with her food day before yesterday, and then yesterday and now this morning she's barely eating. She's hungry, and yells at me for food, but doesn't want to eat the food I give her, and when this has happened before it hasn't mattered what food I give her, except that she will eat human foods. Just not cat foods.
Okay, gonna go zone out for a while. またね

So! There was a mistake somewhere in scheduling and the specialist Oz needs to see wasn't on site today after all, so that needs to be rescheduled and she didn't need to go to the vet today. The vet did do a check-up (she has gained some weight, which is good but unsurprising, and seems physically fine as far as a check-up is able to check (up)) and since there was a miscommunication he didn't charge me for it, so that was nice. It was still frustrating since I had to be up at 7:00 to drop her off, and the vet is 20-30 minutes away (which adds up quickly when you need to drive there and back to drop off and then again to pick up). We can hopefully get an actual appointment to have her tummy checked soon
I'm very, eh, on the whole thing honestly because I have strong suspicions that her appetite stuff is psychological more than physical? Like, I'm pretty sure it's because she gets bored of her food, or something. But it will be good to rule stuff out, and like I said this has been going on for so long now and I worry a lot about her weight fluctuating so much. I actually hope a little that having a kitten around will bring back some of her food insecurity, which kind of sucks as a position to be in
Anyway, that's been my day. I was up all night to be awake in time to take her in, and then didn't really have time between dropping her off and picking her up to get sleep, so I slept when we got home after that and just woke up about an hour ago. I finally started playing Breath of the Wild last night and have been having some fun with it, though I don't think it will actually hold my attention for very long -- I'm very hit-and-miss with Zelda games, mostly miss
ash got me a little knockoff-lego Audrey II and I put that together a little bit ago! The packaging didn't come with any pictures of the end product so I got to work blind off the instructions, and that was fun

My head is very fuzzy from sleeping during the day, so I'm gonna go... do nothing, now

Yesterday was pretty good! ash and I started the new Good Omens series, and we finished the book we were reading together, Raising the Stones -- it's good, I love Tepper's writing and I enjoyed the climax of this one more than I did the previous. She's a very philosophically-minded author, explores a lot of Big Questions in her writing, and doesn't seem overly concerned with actually, concretely answering those questions for the reader. Just, walking down a path with you and seeing where it ends up, and whether that's good, or bad, or something else is for you to take away from it on your own. Anyway, this book deals with religious fanaticism
After that we ate dinner and watched a couple-few youtubes, and then we got high and played Mario Party until bedtime, at which point I hung out in my room until I'd sobered up some and then played more Breath of the Wild. Still enjoying it, but I'm hitting points where I'm having to do boss fights, and combat is the not-enjoyable part of the game for me. I have noped out of fighting Waterblight Ganon for a while -- it is nice that I can just decide not to fight a boss right now and leave -- and am wandering around looking for towers and shrines to fill out my map some.
I need to go grocery shopping but I'm going to do that tomorrow when it's supposed to be a bit less hot. Right now I'm going to zone out for a while until I'm more properly awake

The end of the book gave me Big Feelings I’m not sure I can entirely pinpoint. It was interesting. But from the part when Sam is walking with his father through the end, I had chills and weird-but-not-entirely-unpleasant feelings

Yeah, it definitely went Places, that made perfect sense with the set-up, but it was also a very uneasy conclusion

"Breath of the Wild is too easy, it's like a baby game for babies"
That's because it is in fact for children, actually? Not every game needs to be for 20-something tryhard dudebros, some games can be for other people. Sometimes it's okay for a game to just have a little bit of a challenge and not require professional-levels of dedication to beating it

Pushing shopping forward a day because the weather should be about the same and I really don't want to have to go out today. Instead I'm touching up my hair dye, which means in a few hours I'll be jumping in the shower. I also rearranged my bird feeder/waterer. At some point I need to go out there and do just a sort of general cleanup, but I predict that won't happen until we're closer to fall
Things I need to do include: sharpen a knife, clean my room, record things for ash, buy kitten supplies. There's also a hole in the closet that I need to cover up better -- a previous tenant had wires or something going in there, it's juuuust too small for Oz to fit inside but definitely big enough for a kitten to disappear into.
Productive things I want to do include working on teket stuff, finishing Never Go Home, and working on R&DM with ash, but that all needs to wait until my plate is a little less full. Nonproductively, I want to play video games
I also should take a covid test -- my nose is running and my throat is froggy, and also I just feel kind of bleh. It's probably allergies or something, but always better safe.
Alright, gonna go try to wake up better and maybe get some things done

Alright, been doing some pomodoro to get some cleaning done! Not a lot of progress, but some progress. In a little bit I'll wash the dye out of my hair and then I'll be done being productive for the afternoon, but I'll try getting some more done tonight before bed
I did buy some kitten food, a food bowl, and a water bowl, so now I wait for those to arrive. A little annoyed because Chewy sent me a coupon code last month for "Oz's birthday" but when I tried to use it it turned out it's only for "birthday items" which obviously none of what I was getting counted as. Some birthday gift, right, but whatever
