Rest day has been nice so far! I got the tasks done I wanted to and now I'm winding down for the evening with a rotation of writing/video games/writing until I decide it's bedtime. I put up the curtains earlier and almost immediately my bedroom felt a lot cooler and honestly it's a pretty cozy nice space at the moment:

(bed's messy because I was flopped on it to write for a bit, and also because after I make it in the morning Baby Dog gradually goobers it throughout the day by nesting in it, as is her right)

Thank you! I'm really happy with the way my apartment looks/feels right now. It's a very small space so I've tried to keep it cozy vs. cluttered and right now I think it's a good balance.

We moved offices!!

My workplace has been renovating a new office space in the upstairs of the morgue and in proper government fashion they've told us nine thousand times it'll be finished "next week" and I stopped paying attention. But yesterday we got the go ahead and were able to move into the new space, and I'm! so! happy!

First off everything is just nicer and cleaner; the old offices were disgusting. There's enough desks for each investigator to have their own (the shifts had to all share, and since some people have worked at CCMEO since the Triassic, they are unapologetically dug into their desks so you don't have any space to put your things), the desks are those kind that can be converted to standing desks, and, most importantly----

---THERE IS SPACE BETWEEN ME AND MY COWORKERS!

I have found it a genuine and painful mental health struggle some days, to the point that if the new offices didn't alleviate it (and it seems like they will), I was going to pursue trying to change shifts, which I really don't want to do. I think I've mentioned here before, whether in hidden posts or not, that I find my coworkers to be aggressively overstimulating. They're loud, they're physically close, they trauma-dump, they overshare. I think it's probably half a Me Problem and half a Them Problem but, regardless, it has caused me a lot of distress and I've even left work early before because I feel like I'm about to explode. But now our desks are much more separated and they have everyone spread out and if they want to having screaming social hour they can do it further away from me.

I don't even care if I sound curmudgeonly because do y'all know how much writing I can finally get done at my desk!!!!

Weekend achieved!

Today is my rest day and tomorrow is my errands day; tomorrow I have D&D in the evening, but before that I want to get a haircut and take my various donations to their donation places. I should probably run the car through a wash, too.

But Today Erika is just gonna chill! I've already played a bunch of Minecraft in-between tidying up the apartment and exercising. I'll show some before and after pictures of my base later! I've been doing a huge renovation/redecoration now that I've gathered a good supply of building materials. I also went on a quest to get cactus from the desert biome so I could make green dye and have a full rainbow of stained glass (I was missing the "G" from ROYGBIV and while you can fudge indigo and violet, a rainbow doesn't look like a rainbow without green, I find, which I feel @Harena would sponsor as a statement). Right now I'm going to stretch my legs and maybe take a nap if the leg stretching doesn't perk me up, since I've got a little bit of the midday sluggishness going on.

That's very interesting to me and I think it would be super neat to do a survey where you show people "rainbows" with one of the colours missing and ask them which rainbows are "correct" for them
