Hey guess what it's hot
We had triple digits Tuesday and Wednesday, today it's not quite as hot but it's also less windy. At least it should hopefully cool off some tonight, it barely did last night (hence some of the remaining heat today). Today I woke up, ate breakfast (and watched a Some More News), and then immediately got into the pool for about an hour. Listened to a Knowledge Fight (in this episode covering an InfoWars from 2013, Alex Jones claimed the FDA had announced that vitamins were unnecessary) and did some laps.
Then I went inside and zoned out for a while. I need to eat a lunch, and I didn't end up showering yesterday and should today. It's also about time to do some chores so I might clean some more windows after I've eaten
Sigh. There's an ant problem developing
I want to work on things but my brain is so dead
I should go to sleep
What if I didn't though
I hear bats, I think
I did stay up a bit later, did some reading into Dendry stuff, listened to part of another podcast. Ended up going to sleep about 4 which is bad but not terrible. And then I woke up convinced it was Saturday and got completely ready for the Arcadia recording that is actually tomorrow before I realised my mistake. I tried to record an intro/outro but my voice wasn't up for it (I use a very deep (for me) register for that, in contrast of my slightly higher register I use for Niko, and today it was scratchier than I'd like committed to recording)
Bad brain days again, got the usual 'worthless' 'replaceable' 'failure' feelings. Whatever.
Oz is having a bad day again too, has barely eaten and refuses to eat out of the bowl at all. She hopefully feels better later
Also the 'e' on my onboard keyboard seems to be breaking, which is extra annoying because it features several times in the password to start this computer up
I'm gonna chill for a while
Long day. Woke up to actually do the Arcadia recording I thought was yesterday, then headed over to dad's. It was nice weather for it, a bit warm and humid but pretty cool in the shade. When I got there he showed me some stuff he'd had laying around (he's been looking for a gold watch, apparently, that has been passed down in the family since his great grandfather, I think it was, but he hasn't found it) and then took me out to lunch at a mongolian BBQ place. It was good
When we got back to his house, ash had just got there to give me a ride home, so I popped in to grab the stuff I wanted to take with me and give a proper goodbye, and then left. I don't know where things are going to go in the near future -- his trial is on Tuesday, he's been going to the AA meetings. I don't know what might happen, I'm worried about him.
Des also has been having a rough time of it, apparently; she's on a blood pressure medication, I think? But whatever it is has been leaving her super fatigued, she was too tired to go to work all last week, I'm told. Hopefully that gets sorted and she starts feeling better.
Got home and hung out with ash for a few hours, including dinner. After the drag episode of 10 Minute Power Hour I started watching the second season of Dragula, which the drag queen on the 10MPH had competed in. I finished it a couple days ago and today decided to start watching the first season because why the hell not. Then we watched the first episode of the third season of New Zealand Taskmaster and enjoyed it so we'll probably keep watching the season as it uploads, and then an episode of Interview with a Vampire -- I do not particularly enjoy it but I enjoy ash talking about it, so I'm watching it with him (I was a bit into Anne Rice in high school but never got very far into the series and don't super remember what I did read, but he was more into it than I was and does remember things, so it's fun to hear the 'this is what's different' 'this is the same' 'this is a weird take on that' sort of commentary). I do appreciate the more explicit queerness and the stuff they're doing with race
Anyway, that was my day. Another another arcadia tomorrow, so need to go to sleep at a decent hour again and still, but aside from that I'm going to just. Hang out. Bad brain continues
While I was transiting to dad's house I was reading about the 1990s Firestone recall because hey isn't it weird that Firestone is still a huge tire brand after all that, though I suppose a lot of people don't remember that happening
Anyway what a shitshow, the wikipedia page is a whole-ass ride of 'and also this was going on' -- and also I've come to the conclusion that Ford should not have continued being a company after all that happened
