ash and I continue to progress through RE2! We just left the police station, and glancing at a walkthrough puts us about 3/4ths of the way down the page, so we should be pretty close to the end! I think a little break from RE after this, then Claire's path in the remake

My history professor finally published the course on canvas, and also has assigned a little 'introduce yourself' thing, worth one (1) point and due wednesday, and the first actual lesson will go up on monday. My current plan is to do all of my schooling on the same days, so Tuesdays and Thursdays, rather than spreading anything out over the week, but we'll see if that doesn't threaten overwhelm. So far I am liking my professors, hopefully that continues!

Today I slept most of the day, but crucially did not actually get enough sleep, so I should be ready to go to bed at a reasonable time and can be up tomorrow and ready for classes to start! Tomorrow, ash and I record some Arcadia stuff together, including the final scene of the show, and depending on how much juice I have we'll also knock off a few other bits. I need to put his new keyboard together for him, but aside from those and upcoming class-related responsibilities I don't think I have much going on. I would like to get back to Death Stranding but I've been pretty focused on getting ready for next week.

I changed the litter in the cats' boxes, which wiped out a lot of my physical spoons, which as has been noted were already pretty low. I was going to get some stuff done tonight, but I think I'm going to just kill time until I can go to sleep, and then do that.

Dislocated my shoulder in my sleep, which left me bedbound for most of the day, so, uh, plans did not, uh, pan out.

I did win a caption contest, though, so that's fun!

So the usual routine is that when ash and Erik go to bed, they take their animals with them and lock them in the back of the house, giving Oz and Caelus time to have the house to themselves (and to help establish and affirm ash's and Erik's bedroom and office as Their animals' space). Between 1 and 2 AM, I lock my animals in my room and open the gate for the other animals, letting them have free reign of the rest of the house until I wake up the next day. Sometimes one of the cats gets sad about this and bangs on the gate for a while, but for the most part this has been very good for all of the animals! There's very little fighting now, Oz is doing much better, ash's shy-er cats have seemed to be doing better, and mostly we don't have issues getting the animals to follow the routine and come back to their respective rooms at the scheduled times.

Except that tonight Oz has hidden herself under the couch and doesn't want to come to bed. This means the other cats don't have what they now rightfully consider Their Space to themselves, and I have to leave my space semi-open so she can come back here when she finally decides to, which means I have to continue being quiet out of respect for the people trying to sleep a couple rooms over, and can't go to bed myself until she shows up. Cael is locked in but can see out, which I'm sure he will be annoying about when he notices.

She didn't even come out when I tried pouring a little milk into a bowl to tempt her. I'm sure a cat will at some point get annoyed at her existing out there and attack her (probably and hopefully not a full-on attack attack, but possibly). But this is all extremely inconvenient from several angles.

I would like to be getting ready for bed.

Tried again to lure her out by pretending to get foods she likes out of the kitchen, but she still wouldn't budge so I finally just got down under the couch and pulled her out. She did start yelling when I got to my door, so I'm worried that she's getting tired of Cael harassing her, which I do my best to discourage but last night in particular he got too rowdy with it. She is fine now, at any rate, and now I don't have to keep spooking the other cats by appearing in the living room when they're not expecting me, and can play some video games with the sound on

Oz also does just get like that sometimes, she's got a brain thing. It's been a while, though

Woke up, listened to some podcast, emptied the dishwasher, put toilet paper and paper towels away, caught up on the internet, read the syllabus &c for the history class, did the introductory assignments (one 'tell me about yourself' for the professor and one discussion prompt for introducing ourselves to our classmates). Now I'm going to get some more sleep, though before I do that I should get up and give Oz her pill

Those kinds of assignments I have to sneak up on myself with or I'll get too up in my head about them

Sigh, had to pull Oz out from underneath the couch again

Ugh, it was already 84 when I woke up an hour ago and it's already 89 now

Christ I'd love to go back to sleep
