That's 'going to sleep at about four' not 'laying in bed for hours before finally going to sleep, at about 4'

I've been playing the second Zero Escape/Nonary Games game, Virtue's Last Reward, which is half escape-room-game and half visual novel

I was really enjoying it, but one of the mechanics of the game has turned out to be a variation of the prisoner's dilemma and the characters are being so dumb and I want to crawl into the game and yell at them about it, so it's suddenly become very frustrating

The game has done a timeloop on me and I think it expects me to get back to this point and choose the other option but fuck you I'm right

After all, he was running against Dr. Oz, who was a lot like the Wizard of Oz if he killed over 300 puppies, which, maybe the wizard did that too. We don't know where he got his powers.

We do though? We know exactly where he got his powers, because he didn't fucking have any

That was kind of a really important element of the story

That's from a Some More News video about John Fetterman, but the context isn't important. What's important is the failure to understand a critical plot point in the Wizard of Oz

A Complete failure to go to bed due to being bamboozled by a video game feeling like it was aaaallllmost over, surely just a few more minutes, it can't possibly keep going for much longer, for like twelve hours

So today when I got into the class zoom, the teacher was talking to the disruptive guy from last time, who seemed less like he was on drugs today, trying to convince him to go to 401 (beginning Japanese) either instead of or in addition to this class, he was insistent that he didn't need to, so welp. He spams the class chat with random Japanese that he "knows" and constantly interrupts the class to ask the teacher if you can also say x instead of the y we're being taught, and makes constant excuses about how he doesn't have the textbook and hasn't studied the current vocabulary "yet" and intentionally learns the casual forms because he doesn't think he needs to be polite or respectful,

Since the teacher will always spend fifteen minutes explaining when answering a question, the 'can't you also say x?' questions can really derail things

Anyway have some excerpts from chat today

So we practised a little listening comprehension (my weakness!) and went over the homework a bit, then learned and practised how to give directions ("go straight then turn left" eg) which she says we will do more of on Thursday, so I need to study that a bit. Then we broke off into pairs to read another practice dialogue, I again got a pretty good partner and this time after we were done we just left and came back into the main room, at which point the professor called on individual pairs to perform the dialogue for the class. When she got to disruptive student above and his partner, the partner was like 'Um. We didn't do this, I don't think [student] has the book. There was a miscommunication I think and he just asked me questions like where do I work' (which was the pair work we did on the first day???) The professor called out the partner for not filling the student in on what the activity was, which fair, and then they did it cold so I guess guy does have his textbook?? Just chooses not to use it maybe?

Anyway! After class ash was editing for a while so I came into my room to write this up and hang out with the cats. Later I'll Stardew with Dave, probably! And tomorrow I will do homework, and there is a kanji quiz I also will need to do. At a guess we will need to do readings in addition to meanings, so I should study for that because that I am also pretty weak on (it's hard).
