It is my Monday equivalent! My weekend was an overall successful weekend, however, so I'm not too sour about it. I did end up taking Baby Dog to the dog beach yesterday and she had a romping good time that included finding A Cool Stick! We played fetch for a while and waded into the lake.

She understandably spent the rest of the day snoozin' and I played a bunch of Final Fantasy 14 before ending the day with a really satisfying D&D session. We had a fun boss fight! I know D&D 5e gets criticized for how much of a slog its combat can be, and I don't disagree, but it's hard for me to decry it completely because it can be an absolute blast and I don't outright hate combat in my TTRPGs like some people seem to. I definitely wouldn't want to play in a game that's combat-focused, because then it does start to feel like "well let's murder all these goblins for XP" and too heavy on being a video game grind vs. roleplaying as characters making deliberate choices. But otherwise I like breaks in puzzles/roleplaying/exploring to do some action stuff! During the boss fight Rex held up our gnome wizard like a cannon and gave her advantage on casting a big ol' fireball, it was fun.
Today I need to do my usual routines, plus I have laundry started because I definitely forgot to do it yesterday. I'm also working on another art I'll show once it's finished; I'm practicing more with that lineless style I used for the Rex and Merillian picture, since I think I'm better at shapes and painting directly onto them than I am at making nice lineart.
Okay lemme finish my coffeedrank and then go do things

Abraham takes Leon out to a fancy bento style restaurant and they serve that as an appetizer and Leon, nervous, drank his soju or equivalent too quickly and now is slightly tipsy and emotional and has to not cry in front of his boyfriend because the cat shrimps are too cute to eat

Mostly I like the idea of Leon going on a date; my concept of Snowtown Leon's experience with relationships is that he's had probably a very small handful of women express an interest in him, and of the ones where he couldn't ignore it or genuinely be oblivious to it I think he would've felt social pressure to reciprocate. Gotta be Normal!! Gotta check all the boxes of Normal so you can be happy ha ha ha I'm not projecting!!
Anyways probably he's been out for coffee and dated a little but I think would've been a terrible boyfriend, in that his affection wouldn't have gone past "I will be polite to you" and, like, that can only get you so far. He would seem cold and old-fashioned; he'll open the door for you and give you his coat to make sure you're not cold, but if you hold his hand he will count down in his head until when he thinks it's okay to take it back and put it in his pocket. Plus it doesn't help that if you ask him about his life, it short circuits him. I think in the Snowtownverse present (well what's the present for Leon, which would be Silver Bullet Blues timeframe) it's been probably at least five or six years, easy, since he's been with anyone.
100% chance he's had a girl dramatically dump him, who he did not even know he was dating
200% chance he's secretly into his soap opera shows because there's queer romance in them and he finds that interesting for, uhhhhh no reason!! no reason at all

Uh-oh now I have SBB brain rot
I'm also wondering about Abraham's family, my kneejerk is he has a big family and I guess they would also all be werewolves? I'll have to pull up mek's werewolf notes while I'm at work later.

Also Abraham is 100% the flavor of hipster that pretends he is not corporate trash but he is definitely corporate trash, he works a special human resources position with a megacorporation at an office in Wilmington like bro no amount of piercings and Snowtown Starbucks will make you not Sor's sworn enemy
