Today I took in the case of a man with no hands and soft bones

Correct! His baseline was no hands, soft bones

(Just a strange combination of med hx -- long-term steroid abuse leading to severe osteopenia + like 20 back surgeries and, unrelatedly, a cigarette lighter blew up in his hands last month. He was also HIV+, because why not. When I got all the information together, which required talking to police, his brother, and his assisted living facility, I went "uh. what" out loud)

His brother was like "oh and he's HIV+" when I said he was going to be an autopsy case, as if that might change my mind, and I was like my guy that is 1000% the least of my worries did you miss the NO HANDS SOFT BONES,

(as a sidebar, we are thankfully in a time when HIV is not a death sentence, and sometimes I don't even release young people who have it because it's not considered significant medical history when medicated!

also like. we wear PPE, I have no plants to drink cadaver blood with a straw and unless you have a prion disease we're really not worried about it
