Boy I wish my family would keep me updated on things

So I hadn't heard from dad since I saw him last week, and you know at the end of that week he was going to jail, and that was only supposed to be for four days so I was worried about not hearing about him getting out! So today I texted and he called back and yeah he got out on Monday and just never said anything.

It was an awful experience, obviously, but nothing terrible happened and that part of his sentence is over now. In two weeks he needs to check in to a work program where he'll find out if he's going to be on house arrest or actually have to do work, and then he has to take an eighteen month class and then after that he might be able to get a license contingent on his putting a breathalyser in his car, but at the moment he doesn't have a car so he's not particularly caring about that.

He's got that conservative mindset, talking about the people in prison as like, 'they all probably killed someone, but I'm basically innocent', which is always both fascinating and frustrating. By everything he said all the inmates were pretty friendly to him, letting him use their credits to call Des for a pickup and such. He said no one tried to fight him or anything.

The rough parts were the basically getting tortured by the system (getting maybe two hours of sleep during the entire stay, for example). He sounded pretty emotional talking about it, for obvious reasons.

Anyway. I'm glad he's out and okay. I wanted to ask if he was still doing AA meetings but didn't get the chance to, and he probably isn't, anyway. I hope he doesn't just start drinking himself to death again.

Alright, kanji quiz done (15/15, don't even need a re-grade). I'll do the homework later tonight, and then tomorrow there's also the chapter quiz so I'll need to study for that before I take it.

Here's how to count to 128 in Teket Lau (subject to change)

► Show Spoiler

I've spent a lot of time and effort on this tonight so, like, I'm not going to make you look at it, but I'm also not keeping it to myself
