Early on, you and your buddy can run into a new character who tries to talk to you, and then they and your buddy have a whole ass conversation that you can't understand. Except! If you've played further into the game and then come back and start a new game with the dictionary already largely filled out, you discover that they are in fact arguing about whether or not New Character is allowed to eat you.
Man Who Lives In The Walls is always offering to help you "if you'll give me your [body part] :)", which is sometimes something completely innocuous like some of your hair, and sometimes vital organs like your heart, and if you don't know enough to understand what you may or may not be agreeing to, well! Guess you're dead now, should have bargained better.
