You get the whole "[pointing at me] Me! [pointing at you] You! [pointing at chair] Chair!" thing, and then as you progress through the game you have whole conversations with people and they warn you about obstacles you're going to have to avoid.
An example!
Early on, you and your buddy can run into a new character who tries to talk to you, and then they and your buddy have a whole ass conversation that you can't understand. Except! If you've played further into the game and then come back and start a new game with the dictionary already largely filled out, you discover that they are in fact arguing about whether or not New Character is allowed to eat you.
Man Who Lives In The Walls is always offering to help you "if you'll give me your [body part] :)", which is sometimes something completely innocuous like some of your hair, and sometimes vital organs like your heart, and if you don't know enough to understand what you may or may not be agreeing to, well! Guess you're dead now, should have bargained better.

I intended to take a shower and walk to the store before class today but neither of those things happened
I am so burnt out on both Japanese and class right now aaa. Only eight more days of class. Only a month to go.

Doctor's office called to ask if it would be possible for me to come in earlier. It is not, but I said since it's supposed to rain all day and I take public transit, I would love if we could reschedule for a different day. Almost brainfarted and scheduled it for a class day, but I've got a new appointment for the Wednesday after next. Hopefully it's not raining again by then
Bonus, I have more time to prepare for it - I get lazy about taking my medications sometimes, and they're not like, checking my blood for that but still, and also I've been pushing myself to exercise again since the appointment was scheduled so I'll maybe get a little less of a ding for being a sedentary layabout
Speaking of that, though, today's gonna be a chill day, gonna turn the electric blanket on and hang out in bed with the cats and watch the rain. I do have one page of homework to do but otherwise! No stress

Also bonus, I ordered a new set of headphones a couple days ago, and obviously they're not here today but they will be by the 4th (god willing)

Also all of the words that should be kanji in that are written in kanji, except 難しい (difficult) and 飛行機 (airplane)

What you want to do:
a) Because it's raining today, I want to lay about.
b) Because I like music, I want to learn piano.
What you don't want to do:
a) Because I want to succeed, I don't want to quit school.
b) Because I think it's hard, I don't want to climb a mountain.

Neat -- every other comment the professor has left on my homework has been either "
" or "Please go over correction(s)" but today I got "よくできたよ!" (Great job)
Feels validating, since I went above-and-beyond on the 'choose things you do and don't want to do and make sentences' (by giving reasons as well)
