Got all but one blanket clean enough to go in the drier. The last is hanging up outside to deal with later. It is unfortunately still extremely soapy because I can't get the washer to actually rinse it, so it does need to go through the wash again but maybe it'll work tomorrow.

Waiting for the drier to finish and then whether my laundry comes out of that dry or not I am done for the day.

Alright, drier is finished. Of course my blankets did not come out of it dry, but as said I do not care, I am done. I'm going to eat something and go to bed, and then I'm going to wake up and take a vocab quiz.

I really wish I knew what is going on with the washing machine and your laundry. Erik and I have issues sometimes, but not nearly as frequently or as severe. I have no idea what the difference is, or how to fix it. I can somehow manage to wash the stupid couch cushions, and I’ve /watched/ you do laundry. we do the same things!

This one is new. I can count on one hand the number of times the washer has complained at me about being overloaded, and it's always worked fine when I removed something from the load. We absolutely cannot afford to replace the washer right now but I am very concerned this is indicative of something mechanical starting to fail.

On the bright side: A couple days ago I discovered a jar of marionberry jam in my fridge, I think that Sor got me when they were visiting last. This is quite a treat -- when I get myself jam I pretty much always get cheap crap because it tastes good enough when it's with peanut butter, but this is not cheap crap, and also marionberry is my favourite berry flavour (it's a blackberry cultivar that is IMO a bit more mellow than things just labelled 'blackberry')

So I've been enjoying that

Also the garbage truck came by so Cael is again hiding under the covers

He squeezes himself under the giant alligator to get there, much to Oz's consternation because she's usually sleeping on that, rather than go directly under the covers from the side of the bed that doesn't have a stuffed alligator on it

Ugh. Yeah, not doable now, but husband has done research into replacements when life starts being less financially fraught.

Oh for fuck's sake

I was really nervous about the quiz because a bunch of people in the discord were like 'she didn't give enough time to take it! it's too hard!' so I thought there was going to be actual translation questions in there or something

It's literally twenty vocabulary questions and seven short-form conjugation questions. I finished it in five minutes.

By 'a bunch of people' I mean, like, three
