I've had a bug for the past three days and my throat is extremely sore from coughing and I have NO COUGH DROPS
Anyways I drew Silas!
Jared Leto is the news again for being an abuser and it's one of those things where I'm like, did we not already,,,, Know this,,,,
like not even off rumor and hearsay but like, did we not already have many much hard evidence for this???? and yet still he is cast in movies that he ruins with his wretched vibes
I am of the generation where Requiem for a Dream had an Effect on me and I still say throw that man into a garbage dump
source btw if anyone wants it since I realized vagueposting about a celebrity sex pest means someone has to do uncomfy Google searches if they want more info
some junk journal pages I've completed since the move!
I won't go into the trauma dump but crafting was hard with Sophie around, I was relegated to a very small space in my room where I had to "hide" and didn't even have an overhead light, so it was just. a lot. Now I have an entire tablespace that's just for crafting with all my supplies organized nearby!
anyway, here's my current WIP pages:
I was thinking about doing progress shots of a start-to-finish featuring the nice things Lee and Fetian sent me, if anyone would want to see that. Lemme know!
bonus: she thickkkk
Sunday evening equivalent!
I started off in Waiting for Thing mode because the landlord had to send some people over to do a roof repair, which was completed fairly quickly but which left me awkwardly wandering around my own apartment not sure of how to settle while I waited for all that to be done. Then I nabbed some groceries, did my chores, and kinda..... lost track of space and time for a bit? Not quite depression but definitely weird vibes and some disassociation. I did manage to break myself out of it enough to go on a walk, though!
I went on a lil trip to a 7-11 a few blocks away to grab an energy drink and I think the fresh air did me alright! Still feel kinda off, but I'm gonna sit and drink my drank and prepare for power hour. Likely I'll head to bed not too long after that, since I think my brain weird needs a night of sleep to fully go away.
Not a bad weekend, overall, although a little unproductive, since yesterday I didn't get a whole lot done, either. Ah well!
I get and do usually agree with the sentiment "TikTok has ruined [thing]" but as someone who does not have, and has never had, a TikTok, I think like 80% of what people are feeling when they say that goes away when you actually get outside that specific bubble
Like yes, I do see where for instance "TikTok has ruined coloring!" can be a viable thought of TikTok's super capitalism turning a cheap and accessible hobby into something you need to pay lots of money for or stress about (gotta have the TikTok Shop goods! gotta have lots of markers or crayons or whatever! gotta have your special supplies and the perfect cozy coloring books! gotta do specific shading and blending techniques and make your stuff look museum-quality! gotta COZY MAX)
buttttttt
stop going there! get off the goddamn short form video content super capitalism machine!!!
If you like coloring and everything I just described about it being TikTok-ified stresses you out, get rid of all the chaff and literally get a pack of crayons and a coloring book from the dollar store, go apeshit, and if you stick with it then start to invest in better supplies and more complex or specific coloring books
"TikTok has ruined reading!" sure yes Romantasy slop is a whole thing but I literally never hear about those books unless my coworker who is very into them tells me about the nine thousandth "tiny annoying woman has sex with a shadow daddy" book she's reading and I politely listen. I am not saying this isn't a cultural phenomenon or that it hasn't had any effects on publishing or whatever, that's above my paygrade, but "booktok" only exists on that goddamn hell app, go literally anywhere else I am begging you
