Also just found a bike repair place in my neighbourhood with great reviews, that works on ebikes and offers a 3-year service plan if you sign up for it within 90 days of buying your bike. It's pricey, but so is getting your bike repaired so it might be worth it if I can make the funds work

But also, really nice to know if there's something wrong with the bike there is a place I can literally just walk to to get it looked at

It is 48 outside, with a reported realfeel of 44! This is very cold for here. Also I did my usual 'waking up after five hours' thing, and then Cael kept me awake during my second sleep. I kept thinking 'surely he will tire himself out in a few minutes' -- friends, he did not! He spent the entire time running around my room, yelling. I did finally fall asleep a few minutes before my alarm, and then snoozed it a few times, but between that and the miserable weather I have opted to not go outside today.
I've rainchecked dad visit with both him and ash, so I'll be going Monday instead. The forecast does currently call for rain, but it's currently predicted to only be happening at night (touch wood), and also the forecasted temperature is in the low sixties. If everything comes together it should be a fine transit up to his neck of the woods.
Also my bike is supposed to arrive tomorrow! It is unfortunately supposed to rain pretty much all day, but Sunday morning and early afternoon look dry right now. I would really rather not ride it for the first time by taking it to the other side of the city, but it wouldn't be the end of the world if I had to. Before all that we will have to make double sure we can fit it in ash's car without damaging anything (either his car or the bike), so touch wood on that as well.
I made myself some coffee and I'm sitting in front of a SAD lamp, so hopefully I wake up properly in a bit, here. If I don't, I'll be going back to sleep for a couple hours, since my day just freed all the way up. I need to start working on ash's and Erik's presents soon, and naturally I want to not be exhausted while I'm doing that.

To be clear I would actually be riding it to the train station, and then from a bus stop to dad's house, not just riding it all the way from here to there. But I'd like to be a little used to riding it before doing even that much

I love that humans recreationally poison themselves
I also love that it's not just humans! Loads of animals do it

Animals just love to experience an altered state of consciousness

I don't think I can reasonably be expected to do things when it's below 50 outside

I don't know if this means it's on the way to Sacramento or that it's in Sacramento and "on the way" to me. It doesn't actually make a difference, but I'm curious. My guess would be that it's landed in Sacramento and is "on the way" to fedex's routing facility here

I'm pretty sure it gets scanned in a location, and that's the right column, so it would be that it arrived in Sacramento and got scanned which updated its status to "On the way". But it's a confusing way to present that information!
