My sleep has been better for a bit, and I need to get to bed soon so I don't fuck it up again. But tonight I played Satisfactory with Dave (rainchecked from yesterday due to migraine), spent most of it dying a lot but also connecting the other end of our farthest train station back to our main loop. Next time I'm going to figure out logistics so we can have trains running on both loops without crashing into each other.

Watched Taskmaster (Australia series 2 finale) and Dragula (Titans, episode 2). Both were fun.

Today was largely more LCC stream (there's 33 hours, 38 minutes, and 21 seconds worth of video, I am 12 hours and 15 minutes in) and working on conlang relay. I have successfully turned the torch into coherent English and am now translating that English into Teket. I expect (touch wood) that I'll be done with it well before the deadline (Sunday)

So tomorrow is looking like it will be similar! But in the meantime, I sleep.

A reasonable1 count of the teket dictionary puts it at 272 entries

1Not counting verb conjugations or phrases; counting different senses of a word

The problem right, is that this is 1, 2, 5, 6, or 13 words

(It's 5 in the "reasonable" count -- "lau: to speak", "lau: to breathe", "lau: air, breath", "lau: language, speech", "lau: voice")

((I didn't even count counting eg "air, breath" as two. So up to 15 words))

(((that would be a very unreasonable way to count, though)))

Just realised this means my language has more words in it than Toki Pona1

1Not actually an accomplishment

There is certainly something to be said about production companies not being willing to take risks on new/original stories in our current media landscape but there is also probably something to be said about people's hesitance to try new things in our current ""post""-pandemic economic recession

Which is to say that yes movies have all been remakes and reboots and sequels for decades now because Hollywood is only willing to spend money on 'proven blockbusters', but I also hear a lot about people turning more and more to comfortable and familiar movies/TV/etc and not having the bandwidth to sit down and watch something new

Still chugging away at this translation; I've done all I can with currently-existing vocabulary, so I'm at the stage of coining new words which means it's going sloooowwwww

I need 18 more words (ish), and I'm working on a chunk of them that will be related, so once I get one of them down it should knock the others down with it. There are a few semantic-clusters like that

Today got quite warm but started off very cool, which hit my joints and ability-to-be-awake a bit hard. So I didn't get much done, but I did watch a couple 3rd Rocks and a Taskmaster and a Very Important People with ash. Before bed I need to take the curtains down so ash can wash them tomorrow, and then probably I will continue chugging away at translation.

It's all here if anyone wants to look

There's three people after me, so should get to see the results of everyone's efforts around June 16th
