They were in fact radio-silent all week and now at the last minute have confirmed they have barely worked on it and will probably not finish by deadline
The person after them does not post much but when I peeped at their history they did appear to usually finish relays they join
And after that will be the host wrapping it up!
When I mentioned I was going to try something new, what I did was start playing The Sexy Brutale, and today I finished 100%ing it!
Some bad: I don't like the art style, the character animations feel cheap, it was a nightmare to get running on the Steam Deck and even after getting it mostly working it still crashes pretty regularly.
But aside from those three points I have zero complaints about this game! It is very good, very tightly made, it's a puzzle game that I never needed a guide to figure out but still felt challenged by. Every solution made sense and I often had "Oh!" moments.
Here's the rundown: You are trapped at a party in a mansion, on a day when all the guests are being systematically murdered by the staff. You are stuck in a timeloop, rewinding back to noon every time the clock hits midnight. This means you can save the guests! Every guest is a puzzle of figuring out how to thwart their murder without being seen, and on top of that you need to solve the mystery of why the murders are happening and where the ostensible host of the party is hiding. It starts off with you stuck in a small area, and as the game progresses you get access to more and more of the mansion. Very cleverly, all the characters' schedules stay the same throughout the game, so you can figure out where people are going and what they're doing. It's very fun to surreptitiously follow people around, listening in on their dialogue and figuring out their full schedule so you can avoid them while you're surreptitiously following someone else around.
Very well made, I wish there were more of it to play. The developers appear to have some other timeloop based games and I'll have to check them out in future, though one of them is VR-only and I don't have a VR setup.
Anyway, yeah, I recommend it without caveat. It's currently on sale for $4, so if any of that sounded at all interesting, give it a shot!
That sale is on steam, natch, but it's also available on various consoles.
Had an appointment to get labs done today so the doctor will continue prescribing my medication, which means I couldn't fall asleep without melatonin last night -- I really wish that weren't a thing, but it pretty consistently is. Anyway, I hoiked myself all the way down there this afternoon, and then I hoiked myself all the way back and then when I'd been home for about half an hour I got a call from them apologising because they did the blood draw wrong and needed me to come back and do it all over again. Apparently they used the wrong kind of vial for one of the tests they need done? So I'm going back on Thursday, which is very annoying but I'm not like, upset about it. They got me in and out in like five minutes today so hopefully it's that easy again then, and hopefully the weather isn't too bad.
I was going to put my fake nails on again after the appointment because I didn't want to go to the doctor with them, but I guess I'll have to wait some more. At that point may as well wait until after dad and Des swing by, which they're supposed to do Friday.
Elsewhere is working Currently but will probably go down again when Woozle does what is hopefully a more permanent fix for its issues (touch wood)
Took a nap for a couple hours and could go back for more -- it's very warm in here today
Did a quest for someone and in return they gave me a ring of waterbreathing
Motherfucker I'm an argonian
Oh shit did I drown the adoring fan
