My breakfast lately has been a glass of milk because it's easy calories I don't have to think about, but we're out
Also lately I've been letting Oz have the last drips left in the glass when I'm done and she doesn't understand why she doesn't get any today

Yesterday ash helped me clean my room some, and I did some laundry and got in the pool for a bit. Then we watched a couple Dragulas -- only two episodes left and we're completely caught up with the series. Well, more technically, I am, because ash hasn't seen all the episodes, and all of the episodes, that I have.
Today I watched The Birdcage and played more Vampire Therapist -- I continue to find it honestly kind of annoying and wish it were, uh, better. In both gameplay and writing. I also shaved (face and head) and showered
Tomorrow I walk back to the clinic to give them my blood again, and possibly I will swing by a store to get nailpolish in rainbow colours because I'm thinking about doing my toenails in a rainbow for Pride
ash got me a couple other wet cat foods to try on Oz, one of which I tried to give her tonight, but she had no interest in it, either, and Cael has also lost interest in the first food (possibly just because it's starting to go off).
Since I need to go somewhere tomorrow I need to start going to bed pretty soon, but both cats are out of my room right now. Might have to bribe them to come back in

I really do wish I weren't constantly in recovery mode, but if it ain't one thing it is another

I think Vampire Therapist is on my wishlist but I was already on the fence about it so if the writing is annoying then pbbbbbbbt fart noises, begone with it

Things I don't like about Vampire Therapist:
-I think this is better on mouse and keyboard but with a controller, the controls are just janky enough to be a constant annoyance
-The writing is Woke™ in a way that feels really patronising
-Including specifically other characters being really patronising to the main character
-I do honestly find it kind of disrespectful to take real historical figures, turn them into vampires, and then talk at length about their sex lives, but I acknowledge that's subjective; it just feels extra weird for it to be done in the aforementioned 'Of course vampires are all queer, kinky, and extremely horny' patronising tone
-A narcissistic/BPD character is treated as the butt of the joke a lot in a way that feels pretty mean-spirited, especially considering the 'everyone deserves kindness' message of the rest of the game
-The patients all go through an extremely predictable progression in their therapy; they're introduced, their issue is introduced, they have a breakthrough and think their problems are all solved, they have a setback, they get better and learn to have a more realistic expectation of their healing journey
-Several characters keep flirting with and making sexual overtures to the main character despite his discomfort with sex; the vampire feeding scenes are all very sexual and there's no way to turn the characters offering down or to skip said scenes
-The main character's vampire power of being able to emotionally manipulate upset people to 'calm them like a spooked horse' is kind of uncomfortable and weird
-The therapy isn't messy enough!! This is therapy for vampires I want it to be messy and problematic!!
-I Get Why but not being able to fail or fuck up in any way is annoying for me personally
-A lot of the ... so the main mechanic is that people will say something that is a cognitive distortion and you have to select which one it is from the list; but which is the "right" option feels very subjective to the opinion of the writer and I really often end up just trying everything until I get it right. I'm pretty sure there are some mistakes in the programming or something because some of these right answers don't make any sense to me
I think that about covers my opinions! Obviously it's all like, tolerable enough for me to have played through the whole thing and I do plan on 100%ing it, but it's one of those games where the concept is so good and I wish it could be the good game I want it to be instead of the mediocre game it actually is

The voice acting is good, by and large the characters are fun and engaging, I appreciate all the research that went in to making the therapy &c as accurate as possible

Also I feel like CBT is treated like the end-all-be-all in therapy techniques and I'm getting a bit tired of seeing it and only it everywhere
