Fireworks started in earnest a bit ago, while ash and I were finishing up this week's taskmaster. A couple hours earlier, I closed the windows in my room and turned on some reggae, and now that the show is over I'm in here with the cats. Oz was hiding in a cabinet but just came out to sit with me, and Cael is hiding under my covers. I also set up a few more hiding places for them if they want to take advantage of them, but right now they don't seem particularly freaked out and hopefully that continues through the night.

Tomorrow I need to clean the sink and then ash and I are going to give Cael a flea bath (poor thing)

Also for anyone wondering I did get my phone bill paid

Cael hid under the covers for about an hour, Oz came out of hiding basically as soon as I was settled in my room. Then we all hung out while I played Satisfactory with Dave -- everyone handled the fireworks really well, though I just tried opening my door to finally let some cool air in and the fireworks started up again so I had to close it back up. It is 1:30 in the morning! Can we not??

I have opened up for ash's cats and also let Cael back out for a bit -- on nights I play games with Dave I like to let Cael back out of my room for a couple hours after I'm done, because if he's cooped up in my room all night he gets rambunctious, but I don't like leaving the other cats locked up for hours after they're usually let out, so tonight we're experimenting with letting them co-exist for a while. My main worry is that Cael will deposit himself into ash's room or Erik's office and I won't be able to get him to come back into my room for bed. We will see how it goes

Anyway someone reuploaded Trial By Jury to youtube so, you know, there is that

Woops It's Five Thirty AM

Cat bath didn't go great, but hopefully went well enough to curb the problem a bit. In a couple days I'll put some flea treatment on him

After the bath we had him wrapped in a towel and he spent a pretty long while curled up in it in my arms, not wanting to leave, which was very sweet. I gave him a couple treats while I held him and then I gave him another after I put him down, and then ash and I went out to go look at a dinosaur

 
I've been wanting to get over there to take pictures of it for ages, and I'm not super happy with how the pictures came out but we might go over there again to walk around the area anyway, on a day when it's not too hot. Still, mission accomplished!

After that we went to Michael's both to browse and to pick up some specific things. I got a pen that's able to write on the back of my instax pictures, so now I've dated and labelled all of them, and I got some patterned duct tape that I can use to hang the pictures without putting a pin through them. I also got a couple of purse-strap-clips that I intended to use to make a strap for the camera, but the clips are too thick to fit through the strap holes on the camera, and one of the clips is broken and won't open, so that's super annoying.

When we got home Cael was looking much better, and was also feeling pretty clingy, though he doesn't seem particularly upset or traumatised or anything. I had some lunch while watching a bit of a Downton Abbey (just started season 3), then I got up to peel shrimps for ash for tonight's dinner, and now I'm sitting again and finishing the episode. Cael kept me company in the kitchen and now I've got both cats hanging out with me now.
