My fun purchase for this month was a miniature waffle-maker with exchangeable griddle and grill plates, which I plan on mostly using to make croissanwiches. It was due to arrive today, so yesterday I arranged a grocery delivery of croissants and bacon, to make said croissanwiches, and I scheduled it for kind of early but not very. Then, of course, Cats and Insomnia kept me up later than would let me get enough sleep before the delivery, and while I did tick the 'leave at the door' box I didn't want to leave bacon sitting around outside, so I was up until it got delivered and then I was up until it was time to pill Oz.
Slept through the afternoon and woke up again around five, and shortly after that the maker got delivered! So I went out to get that and look at it all. It's a pretty hefty little thing!
Tonight was a fend-for-ourselves night which gave me an opportunity to test it out. I originally planned on just using it for the eggs and using a toaster and frying pan for the croissants and the bacon, so that everything would be getting hot at once, but ultimately decided to try doing as much of it on the maker as I could, and putting a pan lid over the ingredients to help keep them warm. It would, I think, be possible to cook on the lower half of the maker while it's open and rest the croissant against the top plate to toast it, but it takes quite a bit longer for things to cook with it open like that and I don't know if it would be bad for the machine at all, so I probably will just toss the croissants into the toaster in future (this time I just had them untoasted). But it did the bacon fine and the eggs fine, took, looks like half an hour to do all of the prep and waiting and cooking for two sandwiches which I think is pretty comparable to doing it on the stove and makes less dishes.
So I ate my sandwiches and watched some Price is Right, and then ash and I hung out and watched a Drew Gooden and then an Interview with a Vampire. We have two episodes left before we have to wait for the next season to get made, and this finale seems interesting. The vampires are,,,,, not healthy! They have bad relationships
Now ash and I have gone to our respective bedwards. I'm going to watch a game grumps, and I might try out making a couple waffles. Naturally since I was up so late and slept so little, I'll be going to bed pretty early, but I have to be up at least until it's late enough to pill Oz again.
Alright sitting down to watch the new Sandman episodes
Episode 2
It got up to 105F today, and I've only just got my room back down below 80, so sleep tonight is gonna suck. Luckily I have not gotten enough sleep the past couple of nights so I'm sure that will help!
Tomorrow ash and I plan on going out to a thrift store so ideally I will be awake for that.
Someone's gotta make a fleshlight that's the alien from Alien but you put your penis in the back so the head comes out the alien's mouth
I'm not gonna go looking for it but it's got to exist
So yeah thrift store happened! I got two shirts, a photo album, a clock that I hoped wasn't battery powered but turned out to be battery powered, and a roll of toilet paper with sudoku puzzles on it that I got for my dad (he is the kind of person who does crosswords on the toilet). It was fun to go out but also it got up to 106 today, so that part in particular sucked
Hung out on the internet for a while after we got home -- ash and I are talking about starting another RP thread -- and then ash and I ate dinner and watched youtubes until bed. We only have one more Interview with a Vampire to watch, but we weren't feeling anything plot-heavy tonight, so we'll get to that tomorrow probably
I dug out my switch when @erikavonkaiser mentioned playing Animal Crossing on hers, to make sure we had already at some point exchanged friend codes (we have), and so I have been playing mario kart again. So this evening has been alternatively internet and youtube and dinner and mario kart, and now it's going on 1 AM so I should start heading toward bed. I wonder if there's a new Knowledge Fight for me to listen to -- I don't think there will be but I would really like if there were, they're going through the recent Epstein shit that's been going down in MAGA circles and it's been great, the next episode should get to Trump calling his voter base idiots and the hosts have been hinting that Alex Jones does not respond to that in a particularly healthy manner
Woke up a few times this morning twisted into extremely weird positions, thought it was probably ten or eleven but it turned out to only be 7 AM, and also it was 54% humidity so I found it impossible to get back to sleep. It's 11:30 and I'm finally winding down enough to get some more sleep in, I think. My joints hurt from sleeping so weird, I hope I don't wake up a pretzel again
belated re: Animal Crossing, do you ever "time travel" to move progress faster? I haven't, yet, and am sometimes tempted but it feels like the "wrong" way to play so I haven't decided
