Weekend day two!

I actually have a three day weekend because work has been busy and tbh I needed a break. The summer is super busy when you're a death investigator, and especially in Chicago. But, since I have a whole extra day, I have thusly decided tomorrow is my Errands Day and today I get to keep resting/working on projects/etc. So!

This morning I tidied up the apartment and did a few miscellaneous household tasks, then I went on a run (our air quality is, Bad, so I probably shouldn't have -- I exercised inside yesterday because it was like 200 AQI from all the wildfire smoke). I've now showered and am eating a food and will probably play some FF14 for a bit. At some point before 2 PM I need to definitely potty walk Baby really well since there's a chance after that it's gonna thunderstorm the rest of the evening, which is highly desirable but also means I need to make sure she is safely indoors by then.

I guess that's about it for now. I need to make a grocery list for tomorrow at some point, and wanna work on more art project stuff. I do have D&D this evening, which I'm excited for!

It is amazing how much a three day weekend waters my crops, this morning I went on a full grocery run* and had everything put away before 8:00 AM, and now I'm ready to tackle the rest of the day. I have a few more errands to run after I have some breakfast, and then can honestly just fuck around and enjoy the rest of my weekend before resuming The Grind (tm). I'm glad I took the extra day, I was running on fumes and getting really grumpy about it.

D&D last night was good! It was a good session and I started one of @mek's OC Meme suggestions:

I'm gonna have to think about Leon's dislikes, I was trying to approach it as being from his perspective (if someone like Sor really pestered him to list his likes he would struggle to do and be like well, um, cats, cats are good) so I want to do the dislikes similarly. So I'll ponder that a bit!

Okay, gonna make a food and doot around on the internet for a bit before I resume Doing Stuff.

*this is a spell slots/spoons thing I struggle with a lot! Even though I know walking to the grocery store requires about the same amount of effort whether I take my cart and do a full run vs. I just bring a bag and grab a few things I can carry -- and in fact the latter ultimately requires more effort, because more trips throughout the week, and is more physically strenuous if I decide to be a goblin and carry a bunch of heavy shit -- I consider doing a full run to be more than my brain can handle if I'm low on spell slots. The extra steps of getting the cart, taking that to the store, arranging the groceries into the cart, etc., are minor but seem insurmountable if I'm already struggling to even get groceries in the first place. It's annoying!

Monday equivalent! But a short work week since I had a three day weekend, so that's pretty spiffy. There is a NASCAR thing happening downtown and I am anticipating traffic and work being A Whole Thing for a bit, but I suppose that is the price I occasionally pay for living in a major city. Aside from that I'm about to do my thirty minutes of writing, tidy up the apartment, ponder if I need to do laundry this morning or if I can do it tomorrow, and otherwise do my usual routines before it's time to go to work.

The world is bad and doing bad things that stress me out, but there's not a whole lot I can do except continue to spitefully survive as a queer person.

I wish there was like a YouTube or podcast that was Elden Ring Lore for Filthy Casuals and hosted by someone super chill who breaks things down, because I'm interested in learning more but I will perish before I listen to some Video Game Man using his most obnoxious streamer voice talk to me about anything

There's a kind of specific offputting I find when people get very Content Creation about lore from media, I just hate feeling like some chad is preaching to me about a fantasy world when all I wanna know is why did Ranni become small and then get big again but naked and killed a two fingers and wtf are all these two fingers things anyways,,,,

You might like VaatiVidya - he hasn't done videos on the specific things you're asking about yet, I don't think, but his work on making Elden Ring lore videos is ongoing and he is in fact super chill

Here's one of his, it has spoilers for the frenzied flame questline and game ending but should give you an idea early on if you want to check out any of his other videos
