Pretty cloudy today, and the cats woke me up a few times over the night, and to be honest I was up a bit late listening to the newest Knowledge Fight (I am just so excited for everything bad that's happening to Alex Jones, he's having such a bad time right now and it's giving me life), but despite all that I didn't have any real difficulty waking up
Some things: The milk had gone bad and I drank half a glass (at once) before I noticed
I went outside to exist in the yard for a bit and while there I saw a squirrel carrying a dead mouse in its mouth
When I went to set up my computer in the guest room for class, I opened the curtains and discovered a number of flies there. I killed and disposed of them but there were several more over the next ten minutes or so. We have no idea how or why they were in the guest room, there's no like, food or anything in there that I could find and there haven't been a noticeable number of flies elsewhere in the house
Feels omen-y
Anyway, class went alright. The professor rushed us a bit through some things because she had stuff she wanted to get to today so we'll be prepared for the quiz on Wednesday, but the material was reviewing 〜そう and 〜てみる and なら, which are all incredibly easy. 〜そう means 'it appears to be' and you add it to the end of another word with the only change being to drop the final い in い-adjectives, な-adjectives and nouns just get it tacked on as-is. 〜てみる is added to verbs to mean 'try to do' whatever the verb is (both in like, 'I'll attempt to do this' senses and 'I'll try it out' senses), and that just requires remembering how to conjugate verbs into て forms (which has been drilled into us over and over again, due to how common the form is). なら is a particle that you use in a structure to mean 'this, but not this' -- like if someone asks you if you want to go out for coffee but you don't like coffee, you can say お茶なら飲みたいですが、コーヒーは飲みません, or 'I'd like to drink tea (if that's an option), but I don't drink coffee'. There was a breakout room and the people I got paired with actually wanted to do the work, so that was nice, though five seconds before the room ended, Problem Student who had been missing until that point, joined it. He continues to be only mildly annoying but he is starting to show some signs of old habits -- trying to engage people inappropriately in the chat (as in, he shouldn't be talking during class, not like he's hitting on people), and after class ended he stuck around for a bit to uh, smalltalk the professor about how much his computer sucks? And she was just kind of 'ah is that so' in return
I did struggle a bit in class because I hadn't managed to have lunch beforehand, so I was starving by the time it ended. I ate some peanuts here and there, but that's not a meal, you know. So now I have had dinner but I'm going to need to eat more before I go to bed
ash and I watched another Worst Cooks -- we have two episodes left and have lost pretty much all of the contestants that were annoying us. The show format continues to be leaning a little too far into the reality-show-ness of it, but it's not too bad. I also talked at him at length about some of the things going on with Alex Jones, and that plus that we had dinner a bit late-ish meant that we didn't have much time after the episode to watch other things. So we did a couple shorter youtubes and ash went to bed
I have been chilling since, watching youtube and playing phone games. I would love to get some stuff done, such as playing video games or working on conlang, nothing like, actually productive, but alas even for that my brain is too tired. Maybe tomorrow
