Re: Promiseland
The fact that you have the activities for Sunday listed before the activities for Saturday makes me mildly crazy.

An organisational system of which the methodology is known only to myself
(in order of whatever occurred to me as I was writing it)
The Skybridge is finished!! It takes about half an hour to ride the entire loop, or a bit less than four minutes to travel one direction on one leg. There are train stations at each leg, and at the elevator in the middle of the Skybridge, with four trains travelling between them (two north/south and two east/west, each named and coloured for one of the Four Auspicious Beasts). I am excited for people to see!
I'm going to need a new big project if we're going to continue playing Satisfactory every week.
Today I bleached my hair for two hours and it's a medium coppery-orange. I'm going to throw some more on tomorrow and try to get it lighter before I dye and condition it. I was going to do that tonight, but Satisfactory with Dave. I also was going to clean the antique clock but again, Satisfactory with Dave. Tomorrow, hopefully. It's been sitting around waiting for a cleaning for a while
ash and I watched another Sandman -- it was a good episode for half of it and then the other half was eh, we are about halfway through the season I think. Then we played some more Crush House, but ash started getting motion sick so we called it for the night after one season and he went to bed. Then of course Satisfactory
Oz spent basically the entire evening in the front of the house, and hung out in one of the cat trees out there the entire time I was playing video games in here. She's back in here now just because I carried her back here to get her pill and get everyone ready for bed, but I hope she was out there because she's feeling safe and confident and not because Cael wouldn't let her leave the room. My only real concern is that her being out there means she wasn't eating, and she hasn't eaten enough today
Alright, speaking of eating enough I'm going to go have more dinner and then sleep
So early last month I subscribed to someone's patreon, figuring that I would cancel near the end of the month and resubscribe on the 1st. I really, really, extremely would rather all of my patreon pledges get taken out of my account at the same time rather than spread out all over the month and hard to keep track of, I'm quirky like that. But no matter what I did patreon wouldn't let me do this?? No matter what I did it was like 'great! We'll charge you x today and then from now on you'll be charged on [my original pledge date] of the month!' Like no?? Please stop?? Please just give me the option to change my charge date?? As far as I can tell I can only do this by letting the pledge lapse for a month, which I don't want to do to the poor creator I'm pledged to
What I've ended up doing is pledging through a second account so the pledge can lapse on my main account and then I can switch the pledge back over next month. Which I'm sure is kind of annoying to the person I'm pledging to but not too terribly. I did explain to them what's happening, mostly so they don't think they need to give this secondary account the rewards, nor think they need to kick me out of their patreon-only tier on the discord
Sigh.
Games With The Lads got rescheduled, so I've scheduled a covid and flu shot for Friday instead. I have heard a lot that you can just say that you have a condition that recommends the vaccine and the pharmacists don't really care to check you on it? But 'physically inactive' is on the list and like, I do spend a lot of time sitting, so. At the least I'm not hearing that you need some kind of doctor's note or other pre-approval or anything
I've scheduled it at the target I went to last time, that's in the same parking lot as a Daiso, so I can wander around that a bit while I'm over there
I have also bleached my hair again and got it decently blond. I'm going to throw some toner in it here in a minute, and then after that's washed out I might dye and condition it tonight or I may do that tomorrow. Then shave, then claws. I suppose I should probably do the minifridge clean and furniture rearrange before I put claws on, I guess I'll make that happen
Did this week's quiz earlier, it was reading an article about Japanese autumn-leaf-viewing traditions/other touristy information on the subject, and then like, 8? True-or-false questions about the article. Not difficult, but did require enough focus to read the article
I just want to get the shots in before the goverment makes it even more difficult to do so
cooooool
A clausal verb gets used for this, which promotes a noun into a verb-state. Derived from the verb for 'to be, to exist, to live' and the suffix '-like', the verbalizing verb is gia (holy: glia; hunter: getia; animate: genia; inanimate: gi hia)
The structure is:
verbalized.CLASS verbed-noun connective-pronoun.CLASS subject OBJECT.object
It's raining:
verbalized.HOL rain
It's raining men:
verbalized.HOL rain 3SG.HOL OBJ.man.PL
I'm giving men:
give.ANIM 1SG OBJ.man.PL
However, compare an unconjugated verb structure:
I'm giving men:
give 3SG.ANIM 1SG OBJ.man.PL
Very similar to this verbalized structure above, which is interesting because the unconjugated structures came first and the conjugated verbs evolved out of them
(base verb: rhivm "give"
rhivm sa/set "give (holy)"
conjugated: rhisalm
rhivm et/ete "give (hunter)"
conjugated: rhivet
rhivm en/ene "give (animate)"
conjugated: rhivan
rhivm ki/kit "give (inanimate)"
conjugated: rhiki)
((The x/y in these examples are because the former are determiners that the pronouns evolved from, and give a better idea how the conjugations evolved, but the latter is what you would be saying today))
Alright, what I need to figure out next is prepositional phrases as the direct object
How Teket handles direct objects is by marking them with 'ta' ("OBJ." in the glosses I've been sharing)
I saw a bird
seken vhan kuu tacheine
see.ANIM DEF.IMM.past 1SG OBJ.bird
What I saw was a bird
In a sentence like 'I'm going to the store', the object is a prepositional phrase, 'to the store' -- not just 'the store'. So far I have been treating it as the latter, and it works--
I went to the workplace
tuaki vhan kuu takavir
go-toward.INAN DEF.IMM.past 1SG OBJ.workplace
But I'm running into issues with intransitive verbs, since I made the decision to create a hard distinction between transitive and intransitive verbs. As mentioned previously, I made 'swim' intransitive -- you don't swim something (bad example, actually, you can in fact 'swim the english channel'). Okay, 'to rise' is intransitive, you don't 'rise something' in the same way that you 'see something'. I can't 'rise the bird', I can't 'rise you', but you can rise to the store or the workplace. Rather than describe the verb happening to the direct object, these prepositional phrases cause the verb to be happening in (or toward, or away from, or on, or) a location (or, etc). It describes the manner in which the verb is happening
There might be a clue in some early words I made for this version of the language. There is 'to move', which is intransitive (not move like 'I moved the box', obviously, like 'I moved from this location to this location'), but there's also 'to move toward' and 'to move away' which are just codified verb+preposition formations ('move toward' is 'tuat', which is 'tu', move, and 'at', toward; 'move away' is 'tu' and 'ul' and you'll never guess what 'ul' means). So perhaps by adding a preposition to a verb that also makes it transitive. Unfortunately prepositions also attach to the nouns, so that doesn't help there
I rise up the mountain
echitin kuu taeskeir
rise.INAN-up 1SG OBJ.mountain
I sit on the mountain
🛇 iusik kuu taeskeirin
🛇 sit.INAN 1SG OBJ.mountain-on
Some options:
A) Force the prepositional phrase into its own clause
I sit on the mountain
? iusat kuu kit eskeirin
? sit.HUN 1SG 3SG.INAN mountain-on
"I sit, it's on the mountain"
(second clause might need a verb)
? iusat kuu kit vhaki eskeirin
? sit.HUN 1SG 3SG.INAN be.INAN mountain-on
B) An adposition just for turning the verb transitive (using '-like' as the example)
I sit on the mountain
? iusikia kuu taeskeirin
? sit.INAN-like 1SG OBJmountain-on
"I'm doing the sit-like thing on the mountain"
Definitely others, but I'm running out of steam. I should be rambling about all this in my notes anyway instead of here
But, will continue thinking
It was raining all morning, finally stopped around noon. Still a bit warm out so it's not super comfortable rain, but still nice
Anyway you will probably be surprised to hear that I've got joint pains today
