My notes file for teket lau had gotten to 6,220 words, so I just went through and boiled it down into a new file of 1,360 words. Will hopefully be easier to find the information I need in it

I got a couple new lenses for my instant camera, one arrived yesterday and the other arrived today, so I took them outside to do some comparison shots! It's hard to get a feel for how different lenses will actually affect the picture being taken without actually taking pictures with them, though I've also been messing with a couple photography simulation programs all day

These are all taken from the same distance away, with the same settings (approximately) aside from the lens itself; probably eight-ish feet away from the subject, aperture at f32 and no delay on the shutter. I had the lenses set to 2m, except one of them has settings of 1-2m and 2-4m so I put that one between those two

Here is a picture taken with my cell phone, for comparison (set to portrait and taken from the same distance/angle as the others)

This is with a 38mm super-wide lens

This is with the 75mm glass lens I've been shooting with

And this is with a 110mm telephoto lens

(subject is ash's bougainvillea; it makes a good test subject because it's vibrant, conveniently located, and gets a lot of sun even pretty late into the day)

If I want to get any deeper into this kind of photography I'm going to have to get a different camera, because they don't make lenses for this model anymore and so they're super hard to find

Nice day out today with ash! Despite not getting quite enough sleep, again due to Oz having a rough morning. After I got up, ash and I went to Michaels first because he needed more material for a blanket he's making and I wanted to get an embroidery kit (and, ideally, a sewing kit which they did not turn out to have). I used to do a little bit of embroidery and cross-stitching and I'd like to give it a try again for a craft to do with my hands that I can just pick up and put down with little fuss

After that we swung by Spirit just to look around -- stock was a little disappointing this year, it's 99% costumes and like a couple shelves with decorations and home decor, which is what I was more interested in. Also some of the masks this year are just straight up fursuit heads, which is weird. Also I got stopped by I think every single employee to ask me if I needed help finding anything, I suspect because I was wearing an N95 mask

After that we went to the shopping center that Sor and I found while they were visiting, and which ash and I went to a few months back. It was shockingly busy! Many storefronts that had been empty or going out of business last time we were there were populated and apparently thriving. Some food trucks parked in the parking lot, and a bunch of people just hanging out and using the center as a third space. I'm thrilled to see it!

While we were there we swung into a hot topic, and I picked up a couple of blind boxes (I got a cat-cthulhu pin and a little mushroom man phone charm) and ash got a matching pair of necklaces one of which he then gave to me (it's a moon fish and a sun fish)

And then we went to the arcade and spent about $40 playing games and winning prizes. Some skeeball (though one of the machines was malfunctioning), some air hockey (a regular table, and a pacman table that throws dozens of little pucks at you and makes it your problem), some Jurassic Park shootemup, and a few claw machines. I won a little keyring charm of some kind of sanrio character or something, like 120 tickets, and a little pokeman, and then when we were done we decided to just hold on to our tickets so we can get better stuff next time, since we really like that arcade and will most likely be going back. Though we also remembered that there's a minigolf place near there so we'll want to check that and its associated arcade in the future as well

When we got home we hung a couple of the shelves that have been down since we rearranged the living room, and then we watched Devil's Carnival 2: Alleluia, which is a fun movie if disappointing in how it doesn't end. Some very fun songs, though

Now I'm winding down for the night, though I've got a fair amount of homework still that I need to do, and a quiz. I want to get to sleep a bit early tonight, because my sleep patterns have been uhhhh bad, lately, and I want to get back on top of them

Rough day today, but

I took the Chapter 14 quiz, which took me an hour and a half and I missed one (1) question on, and I've now finished answering all the questions on the homework and just need to actually write those answers down in the workbook. And then submit it, of course

I wish I knew what question I got wrong. I can't decide if it's worth going to office hours again to find out. Probably another dumb misreading

Yeah, so, canvas went down while I was trying to upload my homework and then apparently it stayed down through most of today (it's almost like putting 90% of the internet in the hands of one (1) company continues to be a bad idea), so class was cancelled and has been rescheduled to this Wednesday. This is a little annoying because Erika, Dave, and I just rescheduled our lads time to Wednesday, but it's also good because I really needed the day down to be honest. I got a bit done, including removing morning glory vines from my rose trellis, cutting down the dead rose, emptying the litterboxes, and taking out a couple things of trash that have been sitting around my room for a while. And emptying the dishwasher

I have been in Some Pain for, probably about a week now? And it's liable to continue. Fatigue is also a bit of a problem

The second annual Youtuber Conlang Relay got posted today, which is very exciting and I spent a chunk of time watching it, though not the whole thing because there are 23 entries this year and the playlist is almost four hours long (and they haven't even done the postmortem live stream yet). It's been fun so far, though, and ash and I also watched a few of the videos when he got home, while we were eating dinner (eggs benedict, hashbrowns, asparagus)

My plan now is to watch more of the relay and then go to bed. I'd really like to have the energy to take a bath tomorrow, I'd love a hot bath

So I decided that the earbuds I'd gotten before were still just too big to use comfortably, and I further decided to give earbuds one more try before I gave up on them as a concept. I did some research, found 'the smallest earbuds ever', ordered them, and they arrived today. And I think they might be comfortable! We'll see how long I can wear them before they start bothering me, but they're not immediately hurting my ears, so that's a good sign

Unnnnnfortunately the audio on one of the earbuds keeps cutting out, so that's not great
