Re: Promiseland
Haven't done as much today as I would have liked, but like, I'm at a point right now where I can't empty the entire dishwasher in one go, so. I think I'll take it easy on myself, you know.

I am Suuuper unprepared for class today
Class was eh, we did some kanji reading practice and then went over some new grammar points. Can't say my heart was in it, and we had two very confusing breakout rooms that I didn't really participate in, but I made it through without any real issues
I am home alone! ash is on the other side of the country and is going to be gone for about a week. Erik is, I assume, working late as tends to happen. After class I made myself some scrambled eggs, emptied the dishwasher, and put my eggy dishes in the sink to soak (along with a glass pan that had bits of potato stuck to it after coming out of the dishwasher). Now I'm sitting here watching game grumps and eating butterfingers
I did get a shower earlier but I have not managed my bath yet. Tomorrow maybe
Yesterday, Dave and I started on a new game! We got Smallands, in which we are little fairy boys trying to survive in a big world. It's pretty fun so far, and we're going to hop in to playing it some more tonight, since I don't have ash to social with. Dave has a small army of pet ants and I have a bee, though I'm holding out hopes for some pet spiders because the spiders in the game are super cute. They are unfortunately also very strong, so stealing their babies is going to have to wait
I spent yesterday falling out of trees a lot, so I'm hoping tonight I'll be able to accomplish some actual gameplay
And tomorrow, Dave, Erika, and I will hopefully have our lads time and play some Overcooked 2!
I'm going to go see if Ivy needs to go outside and then get back to youtubes
More Smalland, and we got a lot of stuff done that wasn't going back for my corpse over and over again though there was still a bit of that. We have several animal companions now! And are strong enough to fight some of the common enemies with little difficulty. I've decorated our base a bit. And! We made a discovery!
While heading back to base at one point I started taking cold damage?? And I thought that had to do with the area I was in, except when I respawned I continued to be affected by the cold, so I was like 'are there seasons in this game?' and Dave was like 'I don't think there would be', but then a bit later I realised that all the fuckin' leaves on the trees were orange!! There are seasons in the game!!
Anyway I made some warm clothes for myself and now I'm comfy toasty.
We ended up playing until 2 AM, partly because the game is fun and we were enjoying ourselves and partly because Dave fell in a hole and died before he could get back out, and then kept dying while trying to get his loot back from his corpses. He in fact did not successfully return to the overworld with his loot before we decided we really needed to just call it for the night and let him try again next time
Now I'm eating some ice cream before I go to bed, and then tomorrow I'm going to sleep in as late as the cats will let me
Oh yeah I haven't been taking my supplements
I am tired of every game
So my sleep was not interrupted by cats, but it was interrupted by the maintenance guy finally coming over to install filters in our stove hood, first texting me to schedule it and then calling like one minute later. That's done though, now, so now we don't have to worry about grease inside the vent catching fire and burning up the whole house because we can't reach it to put it out.
That wrapped up around 9, and then I gave Cael his breakfast early so I could go back to sleep until the afternoon. This will hopefully not have any long-term consequences
When I woke up again I pilled Oz and fed myself, then I picked up some trash in my room. I'd intended to take my trash out to the can but the cans weren't up yet -- can't blame Erik for that since he got home at like 11 last night and I think basically went straight to bed. I then spent some time trying to figure out a to-do list app for myself -- I have kind of weird scheduling needs in that I need to be able to like, tell a thing to have me do something in a given week but it doesn't matter what day I do it on, and often to do it multiple times in a given week or month. I've ended up designing something myself to use that just has me set a time period after I mark it complete to reappear in my task list. We will see if it actually works!
I also played Overcooked 2 with Erika and Dave! I was worried it wouldn't work very well but aside from Erika disconnecting occasionally it seemed to work fine, and was very fun. It's very chaotic with three people but we're mostly powering through the levels, and we got about a third of the way through the whole thing (including doing Kevin levels as they've come up)
We stopped around 8 and I've been sort of just puttering around since then. I had a leftover pizza for dinner and an ice cream sandwich for dessert, watched a few youtubes. I fired up a handful of video games but nothing has grabbed me and I think I'm just kind of burnt out on video games in general right now, which is a bummer. Maybe I'll fuckin' read a book or something
I don't know what I want
Going to continue to lounge until it's sleep time. Tomorrow I'll work on getting some stuff done
Oof me ribs
System is working pretty well so far! Today I have: done a small amount of gardening, cleaned the cats' water bowl, emptied one of their litterboxes, cleaned the counter and mirrors in my room, cleaned and crushed a few soda cans, did some Japanese vocab flashcards, started on homework, started on cleaning the shower, and read for 20 minutes. I've also played some video games though still nothing is really grabbing my attention, there.
Oh, and I voted (turns out there literally is one thing on the ballot and it's the 'let the democrats try to temporarily gerrymander extra democrat seats to prevent the republicans from taking over even more than they already have' proposition, so an easy decision that I'd already done my research on) and will run my ballot out to the mailbox in a minute when I also get Oz's pill ready for her
God willing I will go to bed on time tonight and I will also wake up at a decent hour tomorrow, though the seasons are still befuxing my disabilities, so we'll see.
Learned recently that William Daniels (John Adams in 1776, Mr. Feeny in Boy Meets World) is still alive (he's 98) and is part of the longest active Hollywood marriage (he's been married to Bonnie Bartlett for 74 years)
