Was supposed to go to dad's today, but when I got to the train station I realised I'd forgotten my wallet, and there's not enough time to get back home and back to the train station to be able to get to dad's before Lee gets off work, so I'm just not, today. Next week.

I'm not feeling great today, anyway. Not enough sleep, ran into issues getting ready to go, feeling very self-conscious for whatever reason. I was outside all of ten minutes and I'm already extremely sweaty, so that wouldn't have been fun to deal with the length of time I'd be out if I were going over there.

I need to sort out laundry to do on friday, and do it early enough to be able to do multiple loads.

I need to upgrade my OS (free) when I have the money to spare for an external hard drive ($50-$100), so I can just dump all my files on there instead of having to fuck around with choosing what to save and uploading it all to a cloud. More and more I keep running into issues caused by my OS being out of date -- today's (last night's, rather) is that PDF readers will substitute Deja Vu Sans (a low-budget Arial) for non-embedded fonts, even if I have the fonts in question installed and even if I set up a .conf file to force it to substitute something else. This is causing readability issues and also for documents to just be extremely fugly.

I have a-little-more-than-half-a-mind to be reading through the Trophy playbooks but I'm unsure if I'll bother with them in the state they end up in on this computer, and I refuse to read them on my phone or the desktop. I do not begrudge the publisher the length of time it's taken them to get the books printed and shipped (I do begrudge them a little the lack of communication, but considering the kinds of comments they get, only a little) but man do I wish the physical copies would get here already

I also have a little-more-than-half-a-mind to be working on tSGtKBtH:BaFHAoDPWWADDttRaRTaIaDotDCaCBaDFPEaSCAftDT again. We'll see if that goes anywhere. The format is what keeps throwing me on that -- I just can't really get a finger on what the episodes should be like. I've been hoping that having the foundation settled will give me the structure to figure that out, so I continue to poke at that foundation

Still feeling not great, so I'm going to just sort of zone out on the bed for a while. My back is somewhat better, at least, though I can tell I'm on thin ice with it.

Super easy fix, actually - I just pretended to edit it in acrobat and adobe embedded the fonts for me. I also reduced the file size so I've lost some image quality but now it opens faster so I'm okay with that. I can enjoy the pretty pictures in full detail when the physical books get here

I was curious, because I know I've read the bits of the book that were mangled by the font fuckup before, and don't remember the keming looking god-awful, so I went back to one of the earlier copies and sure enough -- the beta copy has the fonts embedded and looks great, the final copy from drivethruRPG doesn't.

Pinched a nerve or something in my neck/shoulder, so that's neat

These messed up book clips you're posting look like art and I am trying to figure out how to use this style in the thing I'm working on.

Hate the ongoing mobilisation of the internet, get more real computers into the hands of real kids
