Just do better today than you did yesterday
And if you can't do that, then do better this week than you did last week
And if you can't do that, then do better this month than you did last month
And if you can't do that, then do better this year than you did last year

Re: Promiseland
Fun day! First (after feeding and pilling the cats), ash and I hung out in the kitchen while I made scrambled eggs and pumpkin-pie pancakes (using the leftover filling from the pumpkin pie ash made for Thanksgiving). I brag a lot about my scrambled eggs -- I make really good scrambled eggs, and part of why I'm so loud about it is because Every famous chef will tell you that I'm doing it wrong and it annoys me. Anyway ash really liked them, so that was gratifying
The pancakes were an experiment and took a few tries to get something like what I was going for, but ended up pretty good. We had some leftovers left over from that, so there are now a few pumpkin-pie-pancakes in the freezer
After that we pulled out the christmas decorations and started decorating! We have the tree up and decorated, some christmassy knick-knacks scattered around the house, and some garlands and lights put up. Some time this week I'm going to put up the christmas village on the dining table -- we're a little worried about the cats peeing on it, because they've been peeing on things in the front of the house, but that's a risk I'm willing to take. I'm also a little worried about breakables getting knocked off the table, but I worry about that every time it gets put up. We did avoid putting particularly breakable ornaments on the tree this year, in part because the tree is set up in a place this time that I'm a little worried a cat will knock it over entirely
After that we watched a couple Worst Cooks while we ate delivered dumplings (delicious). We're on the Celebrity Edition of Worst Cooks and are actually really, really enjoying it. The contestants are very funny and several of them are adorable. Rachel Ray is the non-Anne-Burrell chef and she's also a lot of fun on it, she's very sweet.
We then watched Drew Gooden roast a couple of Christmas movies and then ash went to bed. I came back into my room and sat around for forty minutes and then I did my homework for this week. I need to do another two pages before Wednesday, and then there's the Chapter 17 quiz (I actually tried to do that yesterday but it turns out it's not activated in canvas until Wednesday, so I wasn't able to), and then the final and then I'm done. I need to go through all the modules in the canvas and see if there's anything I want to grab before the semester ends
But no class tomorrow! I'm looking forward to having the day just to myself. Tonight I'm going to chill out and then probably go to bed a little early, I'm pretty tired.

And for anyone keeping track, the person running the conlang relay said fuckall in the thread this week, just that they passed the torch on to X and then today that they passed it on to Y, and Y posted that they had received it.

So today's 10 Minute Power Hour had the Game Grumps getting their legs waxed (while answering questions from Patreon patrons) and at the end, Arin asked Dan "So what did we learn today?" and Dan said "The same thing we learned when we were applying makeup, and getting our hair done: some people really put a lot of effort into their appearance. I really respect it"
And I just have to give kudos for not even having to correct himself from "women", he went straight to "some people do this". He has put a lot of effort toward being respectful to people's identities even if he doesn't understand them and that's very cool of him

Re: Promiseland
A chore that I have been putting off doing is cleaning out the minifridge from when the power went out -- that's right, I have been putting this off since July. I did remove all perishable items from it at the time, but have not opened it since then and since it's been sitting around unplugged my imagination did conjure up all sorts of grossness that could be inside it.
Today I finally took care of it. Of course it was not nearly as bad as I was imagining it could be, there was a little mold on one of the shelves and the can of macha powder had started rusting. A few technically-not-perishable foods that I've gone ahead and thrown out anyway. I gave the whole thing a spray with some bleach and (after letting it sit for a couple hours) wiped it all down. I'm going to give it another wipe down later and then it'll be ready to get plugged back in and get used again! The plan is still to move it to the other side of the room, so that'll be the next step, probably tomorrow.
I've also been doing my PT exercises today, and I emptied the dishwasher and I think that's about all I've got done. I need to work on that last homework I need to turn in, which I am sorely tempted to just not do but that'll drop my grade just a biiiiiit more than I want it to go. That's due tomorrow at midnight so I really need to work on it
Should be the Dragula Titans 2 finale tonight! Evah winning feels a little bit like a foregone conclusion, but Aborah has also been doing incredibly well so they might take it. I would be very happy to see basically anyone except Evah be the winner, but just because it does feel like a foregone conclusion and not because I dislike Evah or anything.
I'm going to go get the house ready for people to be in it and then I'm going to sit for a while until ash gets home
