Part of what kept me up last night was I found some old videos I'd taken of Oz on one of my youtube accounts, so I watched through those

She did not let me sleep in this morning, instead opting to bang on the gate until it was time to get her pill for her, and then I just decided to stay up again. I read for a bit, and then I internetted for a bit, and then I watered my aloe and looked at the backyard (roses are doing good; the bear's breeches are also doing insanely good and trying to encroach on the roses). It's lovely outside, 76F and sunny -- I have my back door open to get some fresh air. Right now my forecast has alternating cloudy and sunny for the rest of the week, and sunny next week, so I should get out of the house and do some errands and try to get over to dad's, soon.

The routine I want to get into and keep is to do 40 minutes of whatever and then something on my to-do list, then 40 minutes of whatever, repeat. It is difficult right now to get moving, though, and I probably should be taking my pills again

So, what's on my to-do list for today is:
-Cut nails
-There's rumours going around that livejournal may disappear or become inaccessible, soon, so I need to grab whatever is still on there that I want to keep
-Write
-Japanese study (I need to reread chapter 7, and study kanji and vocabulary)
-Workbook review (after rereading chapter 7)
-Bookmark cleanup (I have, so many bookmarks, and should have less)
-5-minute room pickup
-Exercise (PT)
-Shower
-Trash (remove from room, put in can)

I do not think I will get to everything, I try to shoot for 8 things as my ideal, but so far have rarely had the spoons and focus to do it.

Since starting this post I have reread some of the textbook and taken out some of the trash, and now I'm eating lunch. I do should shower soon if I want to get to that before ash gets home

Settled down to watch a youtube essay and play some extremely mindless video games before bed when Dave reminded me it's Tuesday. So we played Palworld! He got it for me for this purpose, and I had a lot of fun with it. I'm definitely running into some small frustrations but for the most part I'm just running around finding resources (I have actually never been much of a collect-'em-all kind of guy despite being a completionist, so I'm mostly grabbing pals when I think they look really neat or I'm bored)

I did not get as much done today as I'd have liked, see above about needing to start taking my vitamins again, and during/after dinner ash and I just watched whatever youtube gave us, mostly.

Oz I think might actually be putting some weight or muscle back on, not to jinx it. Both my cats are also finally getting their winter coats in, I think.

Alright, going to eat some more dinner and watch some more youtube, then go to bed.

Cael just attacked Oz badly enough she's bleeding a little. Claw sheath left in her nose bridge.

Three out of the past four days I've discovered upon getting out of bed and putting my weight on it that my right ankle was dislocated. I'd like this to not be a regular thing

Oz seems fine. Like, emotionally. Physically she's got a scratch on her nose

So before migraine yesterday

I slept for most of the day, and then I got up, ate something, and showered, and then Erika, Dave, and I played Phasmaphobia for about an hour and a half. We did I think four runs, three of them in the new diner map and one of them in an abandoned farmhouse type level we'd never done before. I think we managed to figure out the ghost on every run, though I only get credit for three of them because most of the way through the first one I got disconnected from the map for some reason and then couldn't get back in

It was fun! I thiiiiink we only had one death? A couple near-misses but I think Erika just got got by a demon on our last go

After we finished and logged off, I hung out with ash while he finished making dinner, and then we watched a few youtubes and played Last Term until he went to bed. We have gotten two of the endings in Last Term and the game is kind of adorably written in a 'baby's first horror story' kind of way. It turns out, for example, that the player character is in a coma the whole time, OoooOOOoooooOoo

I think the next ending to get will involve finding "clues" -- the game gives you a notebook with every anomaly you've seen listed in it, and some of them have a marker indicating there's a clue somewhere on the floor that anomaly appears. And also we need to fill out the full anomaly book, we're probably at 45/65 or thereabouts.

It was shortly after I came back to my room that migraine started hitting, and by the time I went to bed it was very bad. It was actually still there when I woke up at around 7 but since then has gone away.

I keep mentioning that I intended to do errands and that remains true -- Oz is out of baby food as of today -- but I continue to not feel up to it. It's a shame because it continues to be beautiful outside so I feel negatively about "wasting" the opportunity to go out, but as evidenced by my ankle not staying in its socket, my physical spoons are kind of low lately. So I ordered groceries on instacart and they'll get here later today (hopefully)

I have done some PT and plan on doing the rest of it as the day goes, so getting back on top of that will hopefully help keep my joints together and get my energy levels up a bit. I also read another couple sections of chapter 7, and I've been doing a little rethinking of my chores list and how to better balance the number of things I want to be able to get done in a day vs what I am able to get done in a day.

And I want to try pinning down a more stable day-to-day routine to keep me from sleeping all winter. We'll see how optimistic that is, though. I'm using this little bit of sun we've been getting to give myself a foundation to exist on when the sun is gone.

so I tried the other option and ran into a bug where including code from that extension in a specific part of the program (where I needed it to be, specifically) it would cause the program to hang where the text was supposed to appear. Not quite crash, just never load the text. I fought this for hours before I figured out what was wrong, because deleting a chunk of the relevant text would fix it -- regardless of what was in that text or where it was in that section.

I found a single person talking about it in June of last year -- the issue is that the code will cause the program to hang when asked to display text greater than 1026 characters.

Oh wow, so I went poking around to see if anyone else was talking about this (and had some kind of solution) and it turns out that someone replied to the issue I'd found before, last October, and explained that it actually has nothing to do with the extension and is just a consequence of how Inform in general works (that just isn't otherwise triggered in the examples without the extension doing its thing), and is actually really easy to solve. It's a buffer overflow error, and among other workarounds you can just increase the buffer size by including the text 'Use maximum text length of at least 2048.' (or whatever number) near the top of your file.

Very exciting developments, now I can probably have keywords underlined like I've wanted them to be! And other styling tricks!

I had the idea a while back that ballet dancers, due to the nature of their craft, probably do exercises as part of their training that are designed specifically to strengthen the muscles supporting and stabilising their joints. This is exactly the sort of thing that I want in my exercise routines, so I thought I'd look into if there were a way for me to steal from them. Obviously it would be a bad idea for me to attempt to fully get into ballet, but just like, their warmup routines &c

While I've bought a couple of introductory ballet manuals (I figure what I'm looking for will be something taught early and emphasised) I also started looking for ballet-inspired at-home exercise videos because I also figure that a. there will be a market for that kind of thing and b. what I'm looking for is probably the kind of thing that would be easy to teach to rank beginners. I've downloaded a few and today tried out one of them, unfortunately while I am intrigued by it and it is professing to be marketed to people with no experience in ballet, it does have a lot of 'move into a plie position' kind of terminology. There are people on-screen demonstrating, of course, but it does feel like it just jumps you immediately into things like you know what they're talking about

But I did half an hour of that today and we'll see if it helps or if it makes my joints feel more fucky
