'US Americans really don't understand how much other countries hate them now'
Cousin I have more pressing things to worry about at the moment

'Other countries will never trust the US again'
Neither will I honestly

People are making fun of this by pointing out that keys in the red section include 'fullscreen' and 'save document' functionalities but no one is pointing out that F4, in the green section, is one half of the 'close this window' combo

There's a very strange assumption here that higher numbers are more, computery? I'm pretty sure some of the red-section keys don't actually do anything in most contexts because the higher numbers start getting program-specific in their uses

(People are also rightfully pointing out that no one is born knowing what the F-keys do)

Successfully shaved, cut my hair, and showered! And working on the last stage of copying stuff off the tower, then I need to figure out how to get manjaro onto it.

Suppose the plan for the rest of the afternoon is some python and evennia stuff. I'm keeping an eye out for the pool guy while I'm at it, but I do not have high hopes of seeing him

Still working on getting this last folder done, it's taking longer than I thought it would so I'll have to try to finish it off tomorrow. I did make an installation stick with manjaro on it, so as soon as I get the folder done I should be able to start overwriting windows.

ash and I watched Sandman -- we have like two episodes left, including High Cost of Living. We also watched another couple digimons -- the digidestined have defeated devimon and now they're on their way to their next adventure. I had completely forgotten that they find the tags for their crests just sitting around in a fucking convenience store at the bottom of the ocean, I love this show. I think Ikkakumon continues to be the forerunner for ash's favourite

ash and I also have created a revised weight measurement system, please take note that pounds are now "small pounds" and the word "pound" now refers to a weight that's about six or seven small pounds. "Big pounds" are twice that. I'll be petitioning the government to adopt our system asap so you may as well get used to it now

I have continued playing Elden Ring, though I did swap back to my strength build night before last, if I didn't already mention that. I also just got teleported to volcano manor, which frankly is a welcome break from Raya Lucaria Academy which IMO is the most annoying place in the game.

I took a break from it to eat some more dinner but I'm done with that now, so I'm going to feed the cat his dinner and then get back to it.

The magic academy was also my least favorite place, I played it alongside a guide and still found it so tedious and incredibly punishing if you happen to take a "wrong" turn (with "wrong" in sarcasm quotes because it's supposed to be a game that encourages self-exploration and not using a guide, but genuinely I do not have the time or emotional energy to redo hours of passageways if I go left instead of right one time)

Every fromsoft game has this area -- you've built your character up around surviving the game up to this point, and now the game is throwing the same number of enemies at you as it has been but suddenly they're of a type where they are strong to your attacks and you are weak to their attacks. They're also either ranged or have an annoying Devastating Grab Attack™, and this area has like two or three bonfires/graces/whatever.

Adapting by grabbing more appropriate weapons/armors/resources for the area is as or more tedious as just stubbornly pushing through with your current build because all of those resources are super rare in the area you have access to so far, because they're mostly found in the area you're struggling with

Oh and this area is mandatory

It is usually a magic school, because you usually don't have any reason to have been building any resistance to magic by then, and now suddenly you're in a series of narrow hallways with a bunch of nerds throwing magic missile at you and no way to reach them to tell them to knock it off

Got tired of trying to navigate the series of hallways from the nearest grace to the Red Wolf of Radagon fight with two melee enemies, six ranged magic enemies, and what would in any other game be considered a miniboss, without using up all my healing item before I got there, so I just fuckin ran for it and had one of the most frantic boss fights I've ever had

But I won!
