I told Austin about the choir concert I am singing in, uh, tomorrow, which I guess means I'm talking about it now. (I also told my therapist, and called mom for like 75 minutes, although a lot of that was just shooting the shit). So that's a thing. I'm singing tenor in Vivaldi's Gloria suite with the high school choir (they had a special call for "any staff members wanna join the students?).

It's still a lot of feelings.

Things are maybe looking a little better? I dunno. Here's today's plan:

*Work (chill work! MCAS in the morning, so no students, except hopefully Rjay shows up for extra help, and maybe some other folks will as well. And then maybe trying to get grading done beyond that? End of the year's not too hard!

*Maybe doing more email inbox attacking. I got a Good Chunk done yesterday, which is to say, about five percent of All Emails, which is cool but also not drastically changing anything. But more of that would be nice.

*therapy where I should talk about the bad feels fuckass-from-dance instils in me or the weird-feels from concert and singing and stuff.

*Finish the rest of the dishes because I only did part last night

*Maybe finish making LEGO shapes with Austin? Or watch a thing? Iunno, definitely an Austin night, which is nice.

*It would be good to do one room task, if I could figure out what some of those are? Oh, I could photograph the dice from the previous Batch, and then release them onto the dice shelves (which badly need rearranging, but that's a fairly Significant Task).

Notes on yesterday's plan:

*Chill work was a success! Rjay and a couple other students did show up for extra help! I did not get any grading done but whatever.
*Email was a success! Another big chunk!
*Therapy was a success! Did talk about dance fuckass and tried to untangle some of that. Did not talk about weird-feels from concert.
*Watched two and a half episodes of Taskmaster with Austin, so that was a success!
*Didn't do any particular Room Tasks, but I did straighten up a bit before Austin arrived, which felt nice.

I also read a bit of book (I'm still on my Discworld read-through, but I just got the library notif that the second Tainted Cup book is here, and given that I was on a waitlist with like 150 people, I should probably read that fast and return it because if I miss my window, it's not coming back any time soon!)

PLANS FOR TODAY:

*More MCAS. Have to proctor, but that just means "do quiet solo tasks in another room where I pay at least a little attention to The Children. One class today, and it's my shitty one, but hopefully it can be not too stressful. Then double-meetings afterschool? That's probably fine.

*Still haven't done the dishes, maybe I get those this morning since I'm up a little early and didn't bother to shower? (I don't believe I should have to shower every day, despite my boss's incredibly weird "one of the students said you're stinky" thing from earlier this year which, admittedly, means I do shower at least every other day. But it's a drag especially when it's back to being sub-50 and I have to pull all the long winter underwear out again.)

*No afternoon plan, although I should make sure to have done any necessary copyhell before I leave school, ideally, so I don't have to do that tomorrowmorn before a Thursday which will be quite a lot after two very easy days.

*Making an afternoon plan...uh...maybe commit to a power hour and either read books or do LEGO? I'd like to finish my cool bugs!

Can you show your cool bug LEGO when you're done? I wish to see the buggies

Yeah! I didn't make them yesterday, and I won't have time today (Work -> Union meeting -> DnD -> watching Taskmaster with Tailsteak -> collapse into bed) but I will try to make them...uh...when I get home...from camp this weekend. Hm.

I am too busy :(

(I mean, it's good busy. I am excited to head to Pinewoods for work weekend even though the weather is probably going to be miserable and I almost definitely won't see any bugs, which I was really hoping to do so. But I'll get to see some crewfolks and help set up camp and those are good things!)

Today goals: eh, actually pretty much summarized above. Well done, self.

Yesterday's goals were pretty much all done (except that DnD got cancelled, but I spent some time hanging with JoshZed which was mostly good and a little "the problems you have teaching math at the private school are very different than the problems I have at the public school and also wouldn't trade mine for yours in a million years"

Wish I had enough sense to actually proper go to bed after I finished Taskmaster. Was all "I want to play Necrodancer!" and then I was literally falling asleep in the middle of a run (I did in fact die because my eyes were closed which is difficult for a video game).

Off to Pinewoods this weekend, the first of the season. It's a work weekend, and word on the rumour mill is that I might have like, an entire day at the dishwasher! This is the best news I could possibly get, I am willing to do anything at camp[1] but I do especially enjoy dishwashing and being in the kitchen.

I will also have a lot of grading that I ought to do, but eh, that very much sounds like a future Kat problem.

[1] I, in fact, pride myself on being not part of The Horde, which is a group of the Scottish dancers who specialize in doing things that are large and dramatic and flashy. If you need the docks put in or piles of dirt moved around camp, they'll be thrilled to be the center of attention as they accomplish it. If you need someone to go methodically cabin-by-cabin and wash the windows, that somehow doesn't hold the same appeal.

Note to self: Bring headphones so you can potentially listen to music while you work!

Grading continues to be a futureKat problem.

Pinewoods was really lovely to work at, and a little socially exhausting to be at. It's going to be weird this summer not working after being a part of things for bits of the last two summers. I hope I can handle the weird with grace. I did make a point of sneaking off to the hammock chair for a bit this weekend, since while it's a no-go to be in crewland as a camper, I felt like I could kinda get away with it during the work weekend only.

Yesterday felt pretty like shit, today has the potential to be a lot better? I have meetings every day this week, apparently. I am maybe doing too many things with my life, and should gently scale back. :/

Yesterday ran my last bells for hopefully a long time. (I will ideally still go to bells, but I'm so ready to not be in charge, it's been five years on a 1 year role). I've been burned out on being in charge for a while, so maybe this will help me not burn out completely on the hobby? We'll see.

Came home and was sad. Drew a bug, which didn't help enough, but at least I drew a bug which is pretty good. So I finally cracked open Stardew Valley and preceded to play for twelve straight hours. Hm. Not sure that was correct, but it was neat. I'm playing no-walkthroughs and just trying to learn things by doing, but I am going ahead and googling every time there's something I am confused about like "how does fishing work" (like you think it does, it just really is that hard) and "how do I drop items" (badly)

I am a week or two into summer, and having fun with crops and mining. I just bought a chicken coop, so that will be a nice project for the soon. I am ignoring most of the social, but I have arbitrarily decided that Alex is my himbo beloved, and Elliot is my beautiful flowing hair mystery man. Linus is my true favourite, but I think I can't romance him?

Confirmed Linus is not romanceable, but Alex and Elliot both are. If you're playing on computer, there's a polyamory mod to romance multiple characters, and mods that make Linus romanceable though I don't know offhand how those handle his vanilla heart events

Romancing anyone is so very far down the list of things to do. We got to the spring dance and I had the deeply humiliating experience of being rejected to dance by every single person living in Stardew.

I have started trying to give Linus a food item every time I pass by his place to go mining though. I think it's unreasonable that I can only give him gifts twice a week though!
