It has occurred to me that even though I don't consider Mags a self-insert character anymore, I have deliberately written her with (an extreme version of) my energy from the Dark Times, aka my personal mental health rock bottom. She has the same manic energy, impulsive decision-making, compulsive lying, and need to push people away while simultaneously wondering why she's so alone. I do intend her to be an exploration of a Manic Pixie Dream Girl (derogatory), because that's kiiiiiiiind of what I was, and is also what drew a lot of my toxic past relationships to me.

so like literally I've pitted Leon up against my personal bad mental health monster SORRY DUDE

and also he has to deal with depression and internalized homophobia so like I need to give this man an apology pet cat and werewolf boyfriend already

Made it!

As you can probably tell from my last few posts it was an exhausting week at work and by the end of it I was overstimulated and grumpy and just wanted to go home. Thankfully on top of my regular weekend, next week is my RDO change, so long story short I have my usual Wed/Thurs off, then I work Fri/Sat, then I have Sun/Mon off and Sun/Mon becomes my weekend for the next three months. So I have kinda double weekends, and then I get a more convenient weekend for a little bit (Wed/Thurs is kinda rough, especially in the summer, because that means I work every single summer party weekend as a death investigator in Chicago @_@).

It's also a gross heatwave today with heat index highs around 110F or something ridiculous; I was going to knock out my run first thing this morning but I woke up with a little bit of a headache, so I've decided to just slug and do all my exercising indoors. I can do my usual strength training and then just treadmill run in the gym downstairs, which I don't love to do because running on a treadmill feels kind of like a human hamster wheel, but running outside ain't happenin, cap'n.

OKAY at some point I'll probably make a to-do list for this weekend to get some of my focus back but right now my brain is just making static noises so lemme drink my coffeedrank and play some Final Fantasy 14 until I start to feel like a human being again

My weekend honestly just turned into "Survive" because it was so dang hot, but we're back to normal temps today! I spent the morning kind of catching up on housework and resetting my routines a bit; I'm not mad about it, because there wasn't much of an option, but I didn't accomplish a whole lot over the weekend since all of my energy was spent trying to avoid the miserable sun. Right now I'm resting a bit and then I'll finish putting things away/cleaning/etc., and probably also go on a run now that doing so isn't deadly.

I did get Baldur's Gate working (I now have an RGB gaming rig I bought at an absurd discount, woops) and please witness my beautiful and totally regular not at all spooky son, he loves his spider mommy and his little bitchy vampire boyfriend
