Going well! Though I'm already out of standing spoons, so the rest of my productivity for the day will be stuff I can do sitting down

But I've done my breakfast dishes and cleaned the makeup brushes that I've had next to the sink for weeks now, and I did some exercise outside and inside. I also read for 25 minutes, did my duolingo dailies, and wrote out my personal chore list (distinct from household chore list) for the week

So I think the day's going well!

Made attempts toward productivity for the remainder of the afternoon but didn't really accomplish anything. At 4 I did go for a walk around the block, which probably pushed myself a little too far, but it was nice and I want to get used to making a habit of it. I will probably regret it tomorrow.

I'm now more or less killing time until date with Sor at 5:30. And then if Lee is up for it we'll watch things or video game until he goes to bed. Then I'll turn habitomato back on and do things until I go to bed -- all in all a pretty decent day

Unfortunately I have confirmed that the desk thing is too tall to type on without hurting myself, so there's going to need to be modifications done either to setup or to workflow. Might be feasible to just move the laptop from the desk to my lap when I need to type on it for any length of time, but I think that'll take enough effort that I just won't do it. So options are to adjust the desk/my height, or to move projects over to the other computer and work on them there.

Shortly after Jake and I moved into the apartment we rented together, a 7/11 opened on the corner down the street. This meant that any time we were bored, it was an option to just walk 700 feet to the 7/11, get some snacks, rent a Redbox movie, and then walk back and hang out -- and I miss the hell out of that. Not to disparage my current housemates, nor my current living situation, nor my current neighbourhood -- there are a lot of reasons that my life right now is superior to my life then and I wouldn't trade them

But I want to live the kind of life where I can walk out to the living room at 1 AM and say, 'Hey do you want to walk over to the 7/11?'

That apartment was down the street from a grocery store, a produce store, a thrift store, a dollar store, three fast food places, a 7/11, two bars, and at one point a sex store.

It also had some awful neighbours, of the 'I had to call the cops on them more than once for things like 'there is a person ODing in their apartment and it's going badly enough that I, a neighbour, am aware of it happening' kind of awful, the nearby grocery store was too expensive, and outside that island of walkability was miles of fuckall and very little public transportation

It's cold, my hands hurt, the internet is out indefinitely while comcast does things to it and my data is slow and spotty,

It's like the universe is telling me to just go back to bed

Internet still down, so I'm figuring I'll play some playstation while I wait around for it. I was wanting to play some classic Dark Souls but it turns out I don't have it installed, so instead I'm playing Doom (2016)

It's been a while since I played this, because when I stopped playing last I stopped at a boss fight, and it's now been long enough that I don't really remember how to play - I suppose it will have been about six years. So I'm starting a new save! Annoyed to lose all my upgrades and progress but I'll earn 'em back

Unfortunately my hand is still killing me, so no more video games

Internet came back at about 6:10, but of course by then it was time for dinner. Luckily that did mean we could watch things while we ate without having to dig out a DVD or something

Anyway, since I spent the day not doing anything, I'm now going to do the habitomato for a while before bed, hopefully without making my hand worse

Somehow I'm still on the old duolingo UI
