It hadn't occurred to me how much Gollum was in the movies. I think people are a little generous in how well they say the CGI effects aged, but you do gotta hand it to them for how many scenes they had to animate him in

Gollum trying to stop Frodo and Sam from blindly barging right in Mordor's front door is very the DM trying desperately to convince the players to rethink their really stupid plan without outright telling them not to do it

A big reason why I have struggled with this series is that everyone has fifteen names and Tolkien really expects you to remember every single one of them

Might be a reason I'm doing better with the movies and after I'm already somewhat familiar with the Lore™, because I can see who's being referred to and I've heard people explain "This person has this and this name for these reasons"
