"Try to do something every day to make someone else's life easier" is a thing I've been trying to incorporate into my personal philosophy/moral code/whatever. For my resolution this year I'm going to make an active effort to do at least one thing fitting that description every day, and also try to do something to make future-me's life easier, as well. I may or may not report on it in a thread here, I'd like to hold myself accountable but it also feels like asking for cookies for doing basic decency things, which is not a good look. But yeah, that's my goal.

Happy New Year

I have paid off both of my outstanding debts in full and can finally save money for other things again!

There were two designs I liked, one of which was cheaper and on sale, so I grabbed that and left. Mission success!

This was the other one, incidentally:

Hi! I have not been reading here much (going to Texas with fam disrupted my Systems) but I liked getting to catch up. I'd love to see pictures of the little Bulba and Chocobo you made for xmas presents --you said you handmade them but didn't indicate what medium!

The skateboard idea is cool. I hope it works out for you!

"Make other people's lives easier" is a good guiding principle I think. I wish you luck for it, and I think it's totally appropriate to do a thread in your space about it, not demanding cookies at all!

Funny what details you can completely forget to include -- I made them out of sculpey. I didn't take pictures of them and I don't think Erik did of his, but Lee took pictures of the bulbadog

It was due to rain by early afternoon today, so I aimed to get outside on the skateboard some time before that happened. Spent another half an hour before I started getting tired enough to fumble things, but spent that doing more work on balance and some tentative one-footed cruising. Right now I'm okay practicing in the fairly small space we have for it, but I hope the fence on the side of the house gets repaired soonish so I can have a longer strip.

Also did physical therapy, and pilled the cat. She was difficult about it today -- spit her pill out four times, and managed to lose it somewhere in my bed. After that, and putting dishes away, I went out to the living room to hang out with Lee and watch some TV, and there I stayed until a few minutes ago. I have a couple more chores I need to get done before I go to bed, but overall a pretty nice day.

I slept wrong on my neck a couple nights ago or something and it's been bothering me all day. Hopefully that clears up, soon.

Today I learned that one of the big-name sources for beginner skateboarding information is run by a scientologist so that sure is something

Up to about 40 minutes of practice today before I had to stop, and! I have technically actually skateboarded! Two feet on the board, moving forward, foot-propelled.

Still all of the balance stuff before that, building the leg and core muscles and familiarity. Gonna finish off the physical therapy exercises, now, and do a couple chores

Oz's pills got filled by a different pharmacy than they usually are, so they're a little bit different than they have been, and these new pills are an absolute nightmare to give to her. She's spitting them out several times every time and it ends up a fight to get her to swallow them, and I'm not ever even positive she actually has and hasn't just managed to spit them out without me noticing

Hate it.
