It is wet outside, which means it's too dangerous to do skateboard things out there, so I stood on the board for twenty minutes in my room. That functionally means I was holding a squat position on a balance beam for twenty minutes, and now my legs are pretty dead.

We had an Arcadia recording session today that went for an hour, and I think we did good work on it. I also knocked out a couple of the intro/outros, and I successfully pilled Oz today. And I have a couple chores I'm going to do when Lee gets home. I am otherwise taking it pretty easy. Just ate lunch, gonna hang out on the internet, the usual.

It's wet again today, so again no skateboarding outside. Instead of skateboarding inside, I've opted to take a day off to rest me legs. I also don't have any chores today that need to be done during the day, so I also opted to take a nap

Gonna finish waking up here, then get myself lunch and empty the dishwasher, and then continue being lazy until Lee comes home

Another half hour on the board yesterday, but today I'm taking another another day off of it to rest. Did grocery shopping and cleaned the kitchen, though.

Last night I finished a first run-through of Heaven's Vault. I wish I liked it more -- the puzzles are extremely satisfying to solve but the gameplay is just, really fucking frustrating at times. I would call it downright hostile. But it's still fun and I'm playing through a new game plus now, and trying not to get too angry at it.

It continues to make me think about that one teket game concept, so I'm mulling that over a bit. Still poking at the folklore/history document. Got the Stole Heat from the Sun myth down, working on the Mountain and Bird myth. Want to also do a general timeline of like, social development, and still want to work on food culture ideas with Lee.

Wait

That "'fish' is a nonsense taxonomic category" thing, where you can't create a taxonomic group of "fish" that includes everything we think of as being fish but discludes, like, humans -- that is to say, that a taxonomic group of all fish includes tetrapods--

That means whales are fish

I have a very rough proof of concept made of the ket clicker game in RPGMaker. I'm unsure if I'll continue in that engine, it might be easier to do it in something else. But I can make it in that

Alternatives are unity or making it from scratch with HTML, CSS, and javascript. Any which way I'll basically be making all the assets from scratch myself, but I would much rather have a programming-for-babies system in place for making the code go. But it wouldn't be hard, per se -- clicker games are a lot of 'on mouse click +1 variable'. They just, stack. A lot.

But I am thinking RPGMaker for the 'learn teket by visiting your partner's family in kuris' (working title: Homebound) game. That'll let me include walking-around segments that let you explore the area and try talking to people. I can also do other games in it that aren't conlang-centric

But it's gotten late and I should start going to bed.

In terms of more classically-RPG-genre games, I could do an adaptation of Who Stole Heat from the Sun, or a different ket myth. This would involve figuring out beats and pacing for that, but the story might work better in an interactive medium than writing it out

Could also maybe do In a Young Man's Heart -- I'd been conceiving of that one as a comic, but it might work as a game. Would be difficult to do the Zebra sections in a way that wouldn't bore or frustrate the player, but balancing Zebra in a passive role and Katters in an active role could be interesting.

There's no sun today so I don't really have enough brain to actually think about things, though. I'm going to take a shower in a bit and see if that helps at all
