Last night I swung by all the dungeons in Elden Ring that I'd skipped over and finished off all the ones that didn't immediately kick my ass, which left I think two that I'll need to go back to later. Now I'm not sure what I'll move forward with but there's a couple areas I can go check and see if I'm levelled enough for them now. One of them is full of one of the most annoying enemies in the game, but maybe they're less annoying now, who knows.

A youtuber I was a fan of has been disappointing -- I won't go super into it because I don't want to dwell on either this or Hogwarts Legacy stuff, but he played the game and got a sponsorship from WB to upload the video of him doing so. The fandom immediately became a cesspool of bigots, and the youtuber in question posted the most bare-bones, vague apology and I've decided that I don't think that's enough so I'm going to stop watching him. I'd hoped that he was going to post a more concrete video apology and just wanted to get the text one out there sooner for damage control, but as of today there is no more from him. Just a real bummer all around.

However, today there were a few youtubes in my subscriptions that I'm genuinely excited to watch, so that's nice! Despite everything, it feels like it's going to be a good day

I just hope to god game grumps are smart enough to avoid this one. They have a recent history of being very wary of getting involved in controversies, have already "gone woke" and pissed off their alt right (former) fanbase, and don't really play a whole lot of new triple-A games anymore, so I'll be extremely surprised if they end up playing it. Arin is to my recollection vocally supportive of trans people and Dan is jewish. So I don't expect it to happen but, like, it's not an impossibility

I'll be glad when this dogshit game fades into obscurity because the only thing it has going for it, by all accounts, is pissing people off
