I decided tomorrow morning (my Saturday equivalent) I am going to spend dedicated time figuring out insurance/medical things, since I can reward myself with video game chill time. Story notes is ongoing as I have brain for it, which is in short supply at the moment because, again. sleepy.

I did the things!
I'm intending to work on story notes today, but we'll see how that goes. Notably I did finally make a dentist appointment, although I have to call the office on Monday to double-extra-super-check that they actually take my insurance. As expected, it was not as difficult as it seemed to make the appointment itself, but anytime I have to deal with health insurance I get nervous I'm going to mess something up and instantly owe thousands of dollars.
(also, I won't lie, I'm a little nervous because it's been so long that I'll get to the dentist and they'll be like wow your mouth is actually full of rocks instead of teeth and you need eighty dental surgeries)
Anyways, I was pretty productive yesterday! I got all that done and then also picked up my library book, took Baby Dog out to play with her kick ball, and made a food I can eat for a few days. Then my low spell slots kinda caught up with me so I ended the evening by hanging out in party chat with Sophie (who was also low in spell slots after her work week so we mostly talked about blorbos and sat in mutual parallel play silence) and playing some Stardew Valley. I hadn't played in a while but I was able to pick back up after an in-game day or so.

I played Lethal Company with mek and Dax and had a blast, would definitely love to play it again. I do wish I didn't feel like I had to cram all of my social into my two weekend days; working 3 PM to 11 PM means that I can't really hang out with anyone on my workdays and I've been feeling a little "over-booked" on my weekends lately. It'll probably be a good while before I can switch to morning shift (which I am trying to do the next time there's availability), and while I don't look forward to waking up at 5 AM, it will be nice to be able to spread things out a little better.
Anyways, today's my Monday equivalent but I'm also trying to take Sunday, regardless of whether I work or not, as a rest day, so I'm gonna chill and work on some writing and maybe play Stardew Valley before I take Baby Dog on a walk. It's supposed to snow a bunch in the next few days, but today's just regular winter gloom so I suppose I'll try to get a long walk in before the ground is gross.

The dental office I made an appointment with doesn't accept my insurance so that appointment got canceled, but! I mentally ripped the band-aid off the intimidating part, which was starting the process, so tonight at work I'll gather a list of other offices to try. My dental insurance website has a search function, but that search function is what gave me the office that doesn't take my insurance, so I think I'm just going to try Googling on my own and see who takes county insurance near me.
(I would insert a hearty "we live in a medical hellscape" rant here, but I'm in a good mood from exercise endorphins so all I'll say is how cartoonishly fucking clown shoes absurd it is that any office, whether medical or dental, can go "ew not THAT insurance" like wtf money is money????)
Anyways, I'm still further along towards getting a dentist than I have been in years, and I'm sure I can find something, so I'm not too tore up about it. Gonna sit and finish my protein shake and doot around a bit before I have to run an errand and go to work. Ta-ta!
