I woke up at 3AM-ish because Baby was doing the equivalent of this:

so I cleaned that up (thankfully she managed, for the first time in ever, not to puke directly on the rug which meant I didn't have to then commit to doing an entire load of laundry at early o'fuck), took her outside so she could fret and nibble grass until she felt better enough to guide me back inside, and then honestly went back to bed. It's reading more to me as "tummy upset bcuz old, and also bcuz new meds" so as usual I won't worry about it unless she starts to have trouble keeping food down at all. She just snarfed her breakfast in usual record speed, so her appetite is certainly intact. I did feed her a half serving, just in case, but if she keeps her food down today I'll approach tomorrow business as usual.
Anyways, that threw off my schedule a bit because I subsequently slept in late, so I decided to just accept today is kinda loosey-goosey and am drinking coffeedrank, working on a project, and in a bit I'll get up and exercise &tc.

Today is also a little off, but this one's my fault! I stayed up later than usual playing video games after work so I once again slept in, which throws off my normal exercise routine because then I'm hungry and my body generally requires more maintenance and tantrum tantrum tantrum
Although on that note it does look like I'll be able to switch to first shift (7 AM to 3 PM) within the next six months, which I'm very excited about. Since I started my job I've worked second shift (3 PM to 11 PM), and I don't hate it, but ... I don't really love it, at this point, either. It certainly has its perks, such as the ability to run errands and have appointments pretty easily on work days, but especially when you're in a relationship it gets really tough to be on an opposing schedule to 90% of humanity. Third shift, even, is a little easier in some ways (11 PM to 7 AM, which would be miserable to me but several of my colleagues prefer it), but 3 PM to 11 PM is kind of your entire day gone.
The tl;dr of how switching shifts works at my job is it's based off open slots and seniority, so it looks like in the spring we'll have someone retiring and I'll take their spot. It'll be tough to go back to waking up early (I would say the main boon of second shift, for me, is the ability to wake up when my body is ready to wake up), but goddamn I cannot wait to be able to not constantly be in Waiting for Thing mode and to actually have leisure time that doesn't have such a tight deadline, and that can include other people. Also I haven't had the concept of a Friday night in ages, because the way my schedule works means it doesn't really exist because when I get home it's the next day already.
Anyways! Excited for that. I am hungry and gonna make a food so I can digest it then go on a run before I have to go to work etc etc
Oh, and Baby's better today! She's still got some stuff going on but the meds are helping and no more puking as of yet.

I love how much the Elden Ring/Soulsborne fandom immediately popped off with entire Twitter threads of lore theories from a blurry single frame of the trailer
