Ugh, I'm sorry the PVP is still bad. I was hoping the arena update would have made it better but it doesn't sound like it. FromSoft has always been Like That and it's one of the more frustrating parts of their design philosophy. Both trying to force PVP on you and the multiplayer system being just, needlessly complex. I think the open-world-ness of Elden Ring made it clunkier than it's been in other games
The complete lack of information on status effects within the game is probably my number one complaint about it, you have to look up what you're trying to find out online, and for some reason I don't think anyone's made a complete and easy-to-use guide for them. Fextra's is I think the most complete, but makes it unwieldy by doing things like listing temporary and permanent effects separately, effectively doubling the length of the list. This one has the main ones and is shorter and easier to skim for what you're looking for.
Truly, truly baffling why this information isn't in the game. A lot of armor items also affect your stats in some way but don't tell you, except as flavour text. I enjoy some opaqueness in my video games but this is ridiculous
I always forget how ranged weapons work because I only rarely use them, and I don't use crossbows at all, but I think which equipped ammo you use is based on which button you press? I think regular attack for the first ammo slot and special attack for the other slot? I know when I was first trying to figure it out I couldn't, because while it's a decent enough system it's not at all how any other game I've played would do that
I'm glad you're still enjoying it though! Are you going to keep trying to do multiplayer stuff or are you going to write that off?

I'm willing to trudge through it once in a while, I think! It's definitely not the way I would regularly play the game, though.
The most agonizing part is he can't traverse into dungeons with me? So if I summon Greggo on the world map, and then we go to a dungeon, he has to sever the connection, I have to enter the dungeon, then I have to resummon him, each time using our summoning mats and him having to load/reload into my game. PC players have apparently modded this, which means it's something that can be fixed. I sort of accept the fact that beating a boss despawns the second player (although I think that's silly, too) because it seems like multiplayer is intended more for "help me with [this specific encounter]" vs. "play this game with me" but the entire process is clunky, bad, and weirdly ... elitist? Gatekeeping? Just let me play with my friends if you're gonna give me a multiplayer option
Anyway, despite all that I'm still excited to play some more of it this weekend, which is a testament to how otherwise enjoyable the game is. Bungie used to be elitist about multiplayer functionality (they have always leaned hard on "everyone has/should have a consistent group of 2-5 people that they play video games with regularly" which is a tall order and very much aimed at 9-to-5 or college-going young men) and I'm always baffled when dev teams do that.

Last month I signed up for a FF14 Valentine's art exchange and today was the submission! The person I got assigned requested:
if you could draw my WOL felix on a hot romantic date with g'raha tia at a MCDONALDS RESTAURANT that would be absolutely incredible

I think I delivered okay! I need to work on my backgrounds and it's definitely not perfect but I think it looks cute.
Also please perceive the tiny chicken nuggets I drew

It's cold and I'm tired of it being cold and we've absolutely reached the threshold where winter has overstayed its welcome! It just makes everything harder and gives a baseline of unpleasantness to all activities that involve not being cozy indoors. However! I can't sit in front of my space heater all morning, so here's my to-do list before I go to work:
1) trim Baby's nails
2) vacuum/tidy
3) exercise
4) run to the corner store if I have time (I am out of milk, RIP)
5) make important phone call
That last one is to the VA and is just for a follow-up medical thing so I need to rip the band-aid off and call them back. It's one of those chores that will take less than ten minutes but I will put off for weeks if I let myself, so I'm going to do that first and then start knocking the other stuff out. Here I gooooooooooooo

Your picture is cute! The poses are good, I like how the tails are curving toward each other, and you have them existing within the space well, and interacting with objects, both of which are hard to pull off. The location is instantly recognisable. I'm sure the recipient will love it!

Thank you for the kind words!! I think it turned out well, and I can tell I'm improving on some things even if I'm overall still a bit clunky and novice. The person tagged me in discord while I was on my run and they were really happy with it, which is good! I didn't think they, like, wouldn't be because it's free art in a low stakes fandom art exchange, but their reaction was appreciated. Did I tell you guys what I was going to draw for my self-indulgent reward for finishing the art exchange? I can't remember if I mentioned it in the discord or not.
Also, to-do list update!
1) trim Baby's nails
2) vacuum/tidy
3) exercise
4) run to the corner store if I have time (I am out of milk, RIP)
5) make important phone call
Not too bad! I decided to table #4 because I want to do laundry tomorrow morning and going to the store synergizes well with that task (I can start laundry, leave for store, come back, put laundry in dryer, etc -- makes brain go brrr). Also, while I did #5, the person I needed to speak with is out of the office today. They're allegedly going to have the person filling in for her call me back at some point, but if that doesn't happen I'll just call again tomorrow.

I wanna draw Rex and Merillian art but as a redraw of old romance cover art! Here are my top contenders:

"Gentle Rogue" has the most votes so far, however I am open to suggestion (tagging @KnightOfCups also). It'll be fun especially because I would draw Rex as the shirtless man-hero and Merillian as the swooning maiden, but Merillian is much taller than Rex and not prone to swooning so I'll have to make some adjustments lmao
