Re: The Cracked Mug v 2.0
Anyways I have only like three life skills and one of them is typing goddamn fast
Anyways I have only like three life skills and one of them is typing goddamn fast
Also I survived work! I am sitting for a few minutes to drink some tea and bask in knowing I don't have to go back to work until Monday, and then I'll go on to bed. I have two days of my normal weekend, and then I have Fri/Sat/Sun off, with Sophie arriving on Friday and departing on Sunday. That does mean on my weekend I have some prepwork to do:
take recycling out
general clean-up/a few spots of deep-clean as I see fit (probably the bathroom)
wash and change bedding
groceries (need to make a proper list so I don't forget anything)
bake bread maybe???? I am wanting to surprise Sophie with A Treat (tm) and was thinking about whipping up something like this: https://sarahsvegankitchen.com/recipes/pull-apart-bread/
annnnnnnnd I think those are the big hits. I'll probably knock out groceries early tomorrow, because I generally need them, and spread everything else out as I see fit.
ok gonna sit a bit longer then snuggle into bed with the sweet sweet knowledge that I do not have to get up in the morning until I am good and ready

Honestly same (though you definitely have me beat, my best race so far is 111 and as mentioned in my thread I normally score low-80s when I'm not actively trying to type as fast as possible), and it always baffles me how low the average WPM is even among people who like, type for a living (looking up statistics last night I saw ~40 average across all surveyed populations and 60-70 for coders). I'm curious if the average is going to drop even more in coming years, with a lot of kids not having home computers and just using their phones for everything, and many of them never learning to touch type
It's just catches me a little off-guard for it to be a skill and something that I'm good at, especially since most everyone I've been around for most of my life are also decent-to-good typists, so comparing myself to them I'd figure I'm firmly average. But apparently that's not actually the case

That's so different from what I think of when I think of pullapart bread that it kind of blindsided me, but it looks very delicious!

I got stuff to make it (well, a non-vegan version, so I'll just use dairy milk and cheese) so I'll post pictures and let you know how it ends up! I'll probably bake it tomorrow afternoon so it's ready for Friday.
Saturday equivalent and the start to my long weekend!
I went ahead and got groceries and did some general tidying; I think I'll save the deep-cleaning and laundry stuff for tomorrow, because I'm honestly pretty low energy today. I'd like to go on a run but may end up walking on my treadmill, we'll see how I feel later on. I'm tired! I wish to rest, and I think that's okay.
For now, I finished some chores in FF14 and I think I'm gonna watch YouTube and work on an art thing for a bit. I'm tempted to take a nap, because my energy is starting to dip, but I think I'll tough it out and just go to bed early.
Also I bought stuff for me and Sophie to make hamburgers Friday night, because we like to cook together but I don't really have the kind of kitchen to facilitate anything complicated (I have a very small galley-style kitchen with approximately one countertop, and no dishwasher). Hamburgers seemed low effort but still collaborative enough, and I also got some potatoes to roast. Oh, and I bought a bottle of wine! I straight-up Googled "what wine is good with beef burgers" and then "do you have to refrigerate cabernet sauvignon" in quick succession but now I have a thoroughly middle-shelf wine in the fridge as a surprise. I got some fancy fixings, too, like a garlic aioli and pretzel buns.
I love my girlfriend
I love Elden Ring a lot but its multiplayer functionalities (both PvP invasion and playing co-op with friend) are extremely frustrating for no reason, and also I am not sure if anything makes me scream internally more than listening to an Elden Ring lore snob explain the Radagon/Marika thing
"but was Radagon ever his own person or have they always been the same person?"
[ephemeral descriptions of gender and references to renaissance art]
"okay but like, how are they the same person?"
[more ephemeral descriptions]
"the gender part is not what is confusing me so I'm just going to assume you don't know, either. thanks."
"man and woman are the same person, actually" is honestly not confusing, it's the rest of it I would like to have explained
