Sugar free marmalade may be the worst substance in the world

This observation was sponsored by the following:

1) cleaned out my fridge to throw away expired things, found a mystery jar of sugar free marmalade that was close to expiry date
2) decided I didn't want to be wasteful and put it in the oatmeal I took to work with me for dinner
3) heated up my oatmeal, took one bite, and threw the entire thing away

I have genuinely no memory of how I acquired the jar of sugar free marmalade, my best guess is I impulse bought it at the grocery while craving marmalade and figured sugar free would be fine (since I often buy low sugar jellies/jams just because the ones made with corn syrup or lots of extra sugar are often too sweet for my taste).

IT WAS NOT FINE

It was somehow sour???? It was so sour I even double-checked the expiry date when I got home (before throwing it away regardless) and, no, it's just gross. I don't tend to mind sugar free/low sugar stuff, and obviously it's a good option to have for people with dietary restrictions, but boy did it turn tasty marmalade into an abomination

anyways yesterday was chaos at work, I got frustrating health/health insurance stuff going on, I am brain-exhausted from two days of masonry work outside my window, and I am very likely going to call off work and become a hermit

I did, in fact, call off work!

It was a good decision; the second I did it I felt immediately better and did some chores, including laundry, and went to Aldi for some grocery items I was running low on. I spent most of the rest of the day playing video games with my friends and it was good! I just needed a minute to be a person again, I think.

Back to the normal routines tomorrow, RIP

The newest update is great! I'm sure you've seen but you can build your own ship, now, using parts from salvaged or purchased ships. They also at some point since I last played added in an ongoing Atlas path and a few other things. Oh, and the guilds are slightly more immersive now, because they give you supplies (that can be pretty valuable, like warp cores) depending on your status with them. Fun stuff! If you wanna get back into it and play together just hit me up.

Magic and Medicine of Plants by Reader's Digest Association 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱
Five plants

I got this from the library to thumb through for a writing reference and tbh I loved the illustrations and diagrams so much I might try to buy a copy. I'm sure some of the information is outdated, but I was using it to brainstorm and fill out some medicine/plant information in my storyverse and not as, like, a genuine modern reference.

Also I like looking at pictures of plants and seeing all their goofass names

Started the weekend off strong with a dog beach visit! The weather was really nice for it so I gave Baby Dog a pre-emptive gabapentin for pain and we went a-frolickin'

Now we're back and she has eaten breakfast + passed out. I am about to make my own breakfast, I think I'll whip up some scrambled eggs, and then chill for a bit before deciding what order I wanna knock my day out in. I need to exercise and I probably should grab some groceries, I dunno. The workmen are still outside doing window stuff but so far the day I almost lost my mind has been the only egregiously oppressive day and hopefully that stays true.

when I see discourse about race written by a white person and they capitalize it to call themselves a "White" person I find it extremely off-putting

also while I'm being grumpy at the internet, not every single preference you have is rooted in your trauma or your mental health, it's absolutely cool if it helps you to unpack things that way but sometimes you just like things because humans are varied and fascinating

Had a nice relaxing day yesterday!

I'm glad I took Baby Dog to the dog beach, as well, because today's weather is pretty gloomy and gross and much better to stay indoors for. I do need to go grab a handful of groceries (not a full run, thankfully, I'm just out of a few things) so I'll do that later and enjoy the quiet gloomy morning until then.
