what the hell is going on in my fleet
Weekend!
It's taken me a minute to fully exist, because I woke up at like 5:30 AM to the sound of chainsaws because for some ungodly reason Chicago thinks that is an acceptable time for their PRM crews to trim tree branches. I'm not super sensitive to city sounds/construction noises but between that and the recent horrors of having masonry work done right outside my window I am ready to move into the middle of the woods where machines get overgrown with moss and only eldritch beasts ever speak to me
(this is not helped by shift change at work yesterday being so overstimulating I went into fight or flight mode and considered just leaving for the day because goddamn why are people so LOUD)
Anyway, between that wake-up and having a really busy and kinda emotionally heavy week, I was extremely groggy for the morning and at like 9:00 AM actually tried to lay back down and fall asleep. I was not successful, but I did rest and pet Baby Dog which was nice, and then I got up to do chores, make a food, and properly try to be a human.
It's approaching noon and I am finally feeling awake! I'm going to go ahead and take Baby Dog on her afternoon walk, go on my run, and then resume slug mode because I don't think I'm going to have the energy to do much more than regenerate spell slots today.

I feel relatively human again!
I went on a nice long run through the Montrose Bird Sanctuary (which is where I saw my friend the red-winged blackbird, who hated me and beeped many times) and then after that finished the living ship quest in No Man's Sky, then took a nap. I set an alarm because I was worried I would oversleep, but ended up waking after about thirty minutes feeling pretty well-rested. After that I took a shower and played some more video games, and now I'm waiting for Sophie to finish cooking/eating dinner so we can watch The Witch together, which she's never seen. I think I'll draw during, so lemme figure out what I wanna work on.
Sunday equivalent!
Sophie enjoyed The Witch and it was nice to watch a movie with someone, which is not an activity I often do. It helps that The Witch is an hour and a half long, which I find an acceptable movie length; I'm so far removed from movies as a form of media at this point that I don't know what the run times are looking like now, but a few years ago and especially during the Avengers Endgame era movies were like two and a half to three hours, easy, which is too fucking long to sit still for.
Anyways, I used to like watching movies and television shows more but now I could not tell you the last time I watched a new movie or show. I know for sure the last time I saw a movie in theatres was The Lighthouse in 2019, and the last time I watched a new TV show I think was when the drama about Chernobyl came out.
(although I have been watching Babylon 5 with Sophie, which is new to me, but came out in the 90's)
Today I need to:
get groceries
shave my undercut
make sure I have clean work clothes, if not then do laundry
annnnnnnnd I think that's it, actually. I should go get the oil changed in my car but I can already tell I'm not going to and may just bite the bullet and do that early on a workday, or on the day I took off for a doctor's appointment. I despise Car Chores and always struggle to do them on my precious weekend time, because ew, but also it does need to be done, so.
h'okay lemme finish my coffeedrank while I poke at the internet and then I'll go ahead and get groceries
