I figure it's a pretty fair bet that a lot of you make stuff of one form or another.
What are you currently making? How's it going? I wanna know about all the stuff, and what your process is like.

For my own part, I've spent the past year or so mostly doing script writing for audio dramas, but I need a break from that big time, so I'm going back to a game I was working on in Twine.
I haven't touched it since last August (holy shit where did time go), but it's actually a lot further along than I thought it was. I hadn't remembered that I actually had already done the re-vamp I was coming in to do today, and gotten the game on track for it's actual direction.
I started working on it without a plan, just kind of blindly making and connecting passages, and it wasn't till I was like 30 hours deep on it that I realized what I actually /wanted/ it to be. I thought I'd left it there with the "this is what I want" but turns out I actually already did the rough re-edit and made the notes for what needs doing. Which is /really nice./
I do need to figure out how to get a SAVE function in there, but that's slightly less important right now than getting all the loops put together.
So! I am remembering how Twine SugarCube coding works

Oh, the game itself is called Identity, and it's a weird, surreal-ish thing about waking up without your memory and trying to figure out who tf you are, and where you've found yourself. I'm having a lot of fun.

Oh shit, that's neat!! I've only heard tiny bits about stuff like that, but it sounds just really awesome. Up for talking a little bit about it/what you're doing?
The game's a lot better than I remember, likely because I was so deep in it that I lost sight of the overall picture, but it's nice to see it works! Also I'm further along than I thought I was.
It's going to be an Intro Section, then 4 different Memory paths, each with 2 different loops you can take. The Intro is done and the First Loop of the First Memory path is done except for one little trail. And most importantly, it /almost/ all works. (I have some issues with the name variable that I need to fix, but i don't have the brain for it just yet.)

I remembered how to do conditional statements and learned how to do andif, which has let me set up the memory paths so I can remove options you’ve e already done.
Got the last bit of the CATARACT half of Memory Loop 3 almost done, will finish that up tonight. Then on to that part of another memory loop. Don’t know which yet.

Didn’t get a /lot/ done today, but figured out a few passages for Identity, and got stuff set up for the next few, including some neat images.

When you reference "twine game" I always think of a game made from the physical material twine first and it takes me a moment to correct myself because you are absolutely creative enough to make a game out of twine, so my brain is like "hm, yeah, checks out."
I am working primarily on my fantasy western! I may start a thread somewhere to chatter to myself about it, I dunno! It's like 90% done with something to the tune of 50k words and is absolutely the furthest I've ever gotten in any writing project. Which is kinda scary, if I'm honest. I also have, as most writers do, a bunch of WIPs, but I think the ones with the most meat/closest to completion are Leonstory (Snowtown fic), the sea monster egg one, and then The Other Sea Monster One. I like sea monsters!!
I am not missing script writing very much so while I may try to whip something up for the last season of Breathing Space I think I will fully retire that as a creative outlet. I'm very proud of the two scripts I've written (and that KnightOfCups facilitated becoming full actual episodes of a thing), but prose writing is definitely where my home is.

This makes me happy. I'm glad that's the kind of person I seem to be : )

That's fantastic. That is a /lot/ of works. I am really looking forward to reading it. Also, would follow a thread about that with keen interest, and reaction emojis.

Respect. I think part of creating stuff and coming into one's own as a creator is learning what /doesn't/ work, and what /isn't/ particularly fun.
